Re: Animated Chebychev Lambda Mechanism Sketch

I have uploaded the Macro just in case there is a copy and paste error.

Re: How to get faces in two sides of a serpentine wall?

I would try the following: Let us assume: - all the line segment vectors of the center line (red dotted) are connected in the same direction (end point of a segment vector is start point of the next segment) - the unit normal vector of the center face of a wall segment be n (line segment vector dot ...

Try this one:

Re: Unlimited references to external geometry

DeepSOIC and triplus: many thanks for your investigation. I was not aware that I generated an redundant/overconstrained situation. I was on the wrong track with the orphaned edge assumption. So it is good that a fix could be done by simply removing some constraints. I am looking forward to see the d...

Re: Unlimited references to external geometry

One problem in FreeCAD is that sometimes the edge and vertex objects change if one adjusts the sketch geometry. Instead of changing only the size of the objects new ones are created leaving "orphaned" edges and vertices and the linkage get lost. In the example file: Changing the length of one side i...

Re: Unlimited references to external geometry

Does Assembly really help if one wants to make fully parametrized objects? I agree that it is sometimes very difficult to find a glitch with unlimited reference. Mainly due to the fact that the vertices or edges change sometimes. I also agree that objects with cascading references tend to get obfusc...

Re: Unlimited references to external geometry

Meanwhile I fixed it by drawing all the window sketches new. It seems that in some cases - e.g. changing the roof geometry - the linkage to edges of rescaled objects (since new ones are created) get lost and the model breaks.

Replacing Objects in the construction tree?

I am wondering if there is a possibility to replace objects in the construction tree with other new objects. My use case: I have made a house with 2 stories (my story has an extruded Ground floor sketch + extruded Wall sketch). The first story is a clone of the first one. When walls on both levels a...

Re: Unlimited references to external geometry

Hello DeepSOIC,

The example file uploaded I dare to remember that it worked with your older version (Snapshot from 18.4.15).
Now I am getting: "Document::recompute: The graph must be a DAG."
