Re: Bug, known or Feature?

What you describe is a well known inconvenience, but not a bug. As long as all constraints are fulfilled, the solution is valid and you cannot expect more.
Usually this happens if the jumps are too big. It is discussed in the wiki and I have some notes about this phenomenon in my sketcher tutorial

Re: Add a Datum Plane to existing sketch at different angle

I think I may have a setting turned off that I need on to be able to see the XYZ Plane guide so that I can select the normal to Y-Axis. The first subelement in the body is the Origin. It is hidden, but you can make it visible as you can any other element. You can even expand it further and hide or ...

Re: future in assembly? a2+, assembly3, what else?

The safest way is to not use any of these not-yet-official assembly approaches. It's not an assembly replacement, but you can group solids together in one Part container and move that around. Manipulator workbench can help with aligning. It adds nothing new, it only sets parameters accordingly. Have...

Re: [Bug] Chamfer bigger than 2mm crashes freecad

It works here. But perhaps you should clarify which edges you exactly mean. When the radius is too big I get an error message, but no crash. Can you try with refining Pad002 before filleting, does it crash as well? OS: macOS High Sierra (10.13) Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Ve...

Although it can be partly derived from the log it is always good to add your FreeCAD info.

Re: [Bug] A non-editable Draft projection produces strange behavior when trying to edit it

If I double click on a Shape2DView, the object does not turn yellow, and does not block anything, instead the grid is reinitialized (which is a pain). The object changes nevertheless its state, and I get the same message in report view. The highlight cannot be deactivated until you press the «Escape...

Re: sterling engine

This is an example of an assembly that was created with FreeCAD. It is a complete Sterling Engine. I stumbled across this old post (when I chased spammers). The links to the images are lost. We have seen here your great models so I would ask, if you still have the images and if you can upload them ...

One more thing, how did you make the tree diagram? It may be helpful in correcting other errors in my complete drawing.
Its the Std DependencyGraph for which you need an additional tool.

In Preferences->General->Units you can set the number of decimals.

Re: Add a Datum Plane to existing sketch at different angle

Hi Wayne, welcome to the forum. You can select as first reference a Vertex of the outer line which is supposed to lie in the plane. As second reference use the normal to Y-axis. My ultimate goal is to add the datum plane in the XZ plane of the environment My guess is, that that's not really the ulti...
