Re: STL file - impossible to modify

This is simple enough that it is not worth to invest any time in the conversion. It looks like just two simple padded sketches.

Re: Sketches get corrupt on parametric changes

You can make the sketch flip-safe, if you do the calculations in the spreadsheet.

Re: Philosophical thoughts (?) About FreeCAD.

Does FreeCAD want to address only specialists or does it want to excite the greatest number? I don't think it is one of them and not both either. What it needs are enthusiasts. People being delighted by what they get, or at least happy. That's one of the important rewards the developers and helpers...

Please add the information at which values the sketch flips, so that not every helper has to invest the time to find out.

Re: "BRep_API: command not found" when applying thickness

Here is the best I can do for you: I used a sweep to get a thicker wall. Please note that the sweep does not pass the Part geometry check, which means that problems can occur if you use such object in further operations, e.g. booleans. So I wasn't able to make a union of the wall with the bottom. Sn...

Re: "BRep_API: command not found" when applying thickness

Hi and welcome to the forum! Thickness is perhaps the function that fails most often in FreeCAD. This come directly from the 3rd party geometric kernel, and there is not much that the FreeCDA developers can do about it. It almost always fails when curved shapes are involved that are controlled by so...

The centroid post-processor seems to be the most correct of the bunch but I don't know if modifying it as Acorn CNC expects would affect other Centroid products.
You can modify it and store it under a new name, e.g. acorn_post.py.

if I'm motivated enough I will try to write up a guide on a few of these pitfalls because it doesn't seem to be information I have managed to run across yet.
I hope you are motivated. You may add additional things to consider to the "Tips" section of the Thread for Screw Tutorial.

Gibt es eine Möglichkeit aus FreeCAD G-Code für die KOSY zu eyportieren? Und wie wäre das Vorgehen?
So wie im Wiki beschrieben: Path Postprocessor Customization.
