You are right. Now (UTC 15:15) reading posts, opening replies, editing a post is really fast. Only creating a new post still takes ~15 seconds.

In the new implementation, where points are normal geometry by default, I simply do not know if this immunity has been preserved. I hope it has. I don't understand these "noses" you have. Without them you could make the pad longer ("thicker") then fillet all edges and finally cut top and bottom off so that you have sharp edges again.
This would even be toponaming safe.
