We have also seen that other USB devices can disturb the FreeCAD mouse while other applications don't seem to be affected. In case you have a joystick or a console, try to disconnect them.

It's probably easier to create a pipe than to match the tubes. Thickness is the most fragile tool in FreeCAD I know.
