Re: Ellipsoid problem under Shape Creation tools

Ok, here is what I found -- I was rotating the ellipse 90 degrees before performing the loft operation, and the result was the crumpled looking solid shown previously. If I perform the loft without rotating the ellipse, it executes perfectly. In my application I can rotate the solid after performing...

Re: Ellipsoid problem under Shape Creation tools

Clicking 'planar' when creating the Face seems to make a good face, but it still gives the crumpled look when lofted. Maybe I can place a circle on that edge and loft from that.

Thanks for the help, you guys know your way around FreeCAD pretty well.

I increased the height of the loft by 1mm, and the cut worked as expected. Thanks for the help.

Re: Problem with boolean cut operation

Do you mean I have somehow inadvertently created a superfluous vertex? I recreated my model from scratch and still have the same error.

Re: Freecad wood guitar neck design

Perhaps "sketch" should extend only as far as the present Loft, i.e. as far as sketch001. Then add an additional sketch for the rectangle between sketch001 and sketch003. Then you could loft from the new rectangle to sketch004.

Re: Call for screenshots

A ring I designed, with a guitar motif. The difficult part of this was matching the surfaces when making cuts.

Re: Design, sketch, draft... what's the difference?

With your file tube.fcstd open in the Part Design Workbench, rotate the view to show the bottom of the pad. Click on the bottom face of the pad, then click on 'Map a Sketch to a Face'. Select Sketch001 from the list, then click ok. Now that Sketch001 is mapped to the bottom of the pad, the Pocket fu...
