Yes, silent deinstallation worked with the pre version.

Yes, workaround did it. Implemented replacing of uninstall.exe in OPSI package (https://opsi.wzb.eu/dfn_freecad_0.16.6712-2.opsi)

So hopefully this workaround is not needed anymore in FreeCAD 0.17.

The problem is solved. On simply copying the installation directory you have to ensure that the case-sensitive directory names (e.g. 'Lib') are preserved! For me copying to a smb share and back did not work because 'Lib' becoming 'lib' and FreeCAD could not be started. Solution: generating a tar arc...

Yes, was copied from an installation directory.

But IMO is windows case-insensitive?! So 'Lib' should be the same as 'lib'?

Perhaps something went wrong on copying, so I will retry the procedure...
