Re: Bug #2663 DXF export wrong when sketch is rotated

Hey Kunda1, sorry for the late reply. As posted on the bug tracker, the behavior is still present with this version: OS: Ubuntu Zesty Zapus (development branch) Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.17.10035 (Git) Build type: None Branch: master Hash: 0598af8a081f762039fa43...

Re: TechDraw Comments from Feature Announcement

Oh right, about that last post:
I changed the shape view from Z=1 to Y=1, but Section Origin is somehow off.
If changed to Z=20, the view appears, but the value changes back.

Re: TechDraw Comments from Feature Announcement

Hi wandererfan, Can you post an example fcstd? We have some issues with getting all the lines from OCC's hidden line removal routines and this sounds like a good test. I gladly made a case similar to mine, made with git8186. If it's a deeper bug in OCC, maybe (at least for revolutions, if only they ...

Re: TechDraw Comments from Feature Announcement

TechDraw is coming along very nicely! I wanted to create a drawing for the section of a revolution of a sketch (a part to be turned later). However, the hidden arcs and lines of the left side are missing, so I can't draw a dimension for the inner diameter of the part. Also, it would be nice if the f...

Re: Re-oriented sketch breaks DXF export?

Hi NormandC, In the Import-Export preferences for DXF, there's an Export option named "Project exported objects along current view direction". Thanks, I didn't know this option existed, however - as you already said - the output doesn't change. Indeed it seems like lines are affected diffe...

Re-oriented sketch breaks DXF export?

FreeCAD Version: 0.17 git8139 Hi forum, I love working with the Sketcher, but I'm stuck as to efficiently export to a usable 2D format. When exporting a sketch (by File -> Export -> Autodesk DXF) that is not oriented at the XY-plane, the output gets mangled or creates a 0 byte file. For now, it work...

Re: How to generate a 2D plan of the ouside of a cone for laser cuting?

Hey, thanks for your reply! :) Did you check the ruled surface parameter when you lofted the profiles? Yes, "ruled" is checked ( now - sorry!). I now also added a slit where I want to weld it later. The macro now creates the correct number of drafts in the right order, but they're n...

Re: How to generate a 2D plan of the ouside of a cone for laser cuting?

Hey there, not sure if the macro should work on this piece, but I'd need this lofted surface unrolled. manifold.png The macro creates lots of elements with errors in groups. Is there any other way (I haven't found yet) to do this? They're two differently sized rectangles with rounded corners, one at...

Re: WebGL export

BabylonJS looks awesome! In light of the "3D in browser thing" I'd like to mention http://www.x3dom.org, hope it's not too off-topic. What's nice about it is that you can access the elements in a X3D file (XML 3D) via your regular HTML DOM. So changing the attributes of a 3D object becomes...
