Re: Helping to review pull requests

Thank you! No problem. By the way, I haven't forgotten about this, just trying to find the best way to tackle it, as it's a big PR. Also, I have strong opinions regarding coding styles/techniques that generally don't seem to align with RealThunder's approach. I think my first step will be to take a...

This same thing happened to me recently 😂

Anywho, not sure how far along your OpenGL journey you are, but if you're just getting started I can recommend some resources.

Re: Helping to review pull requests

As an experienced FreeCAD programmer it would be great if you could have a look at realthunder's pending fixes for the Expression engine. That PR seems to be one of the showstoppers for a 0.19 stable. 😂 I’ve been skipping realthunder’s PRs due to them being so huge and daunting. As you’ve pointed o...

Re: Helping to review pull requests

I'd like to read-through PR's and provide comments, though I don't currently have a dev environment set up to compile FreeCAD. Would that be helpful? If so, please add ezzieyguywuf on github. edit: NVM, it seems I can already do reviews for some reason. See PR 3804 for an example of the type of help...

Re: I'm (trying to) make my own CAD!

Great! Always nice to see forks, alternatives, other ideas, and all the things that make the FOSS world alive. Keep going! (and keep us informed! ;) ) Thanks for the kind words! I had considered adding my demo gif to my original post but was worried it might be seen too much like self promotion. si...

Re: Importance of algebra in engineering.

Algebra is probably the main reason why I still have a paper and a pen on my desk I think however engineers aren't physician. This is generally 'simple' algebra Basically from this perspective, all engineering is always risk management 👍👍👍 If I was a hiring manager and needed an engineer I'd offer ...

Re: Importance of algebra in engineering.

I had the impression that most engineers were inclined to numerical solutions in the first instance, giving little thought to algebraic aspects Consider the following analogy: what if children were only taught how to use a calculator, but not how to actually add/subtract/multiply, etc.? Do you thin...
