Re: Payement with FreeCAD
I have donated a small amount to the official donation account a long while ago.But i really do not know what these money goes to.Is it the infrastructure for the web page/forum? I have also sponsored a small amount to Ian Rees a few years ago and recently Yorik's patreon funding and when considerin...

Re: About funding and all that
Bitcoin and paypal and so on may work well for donations from individuals that would like to support the project. But in the long run if larger companies and organisations would like to sponsor the project i do not think that they will be satisfied if there is no foundation/organisation that governs ...

Re: About funding and all that
Would it be feasible to cooperate with the document foundation?Maybe let them run the founding and juridic part and then a steering group of the core developers would assign the money to projects of their choice. The document foundation is based in Germany an if i am not wrong FreeCAD has its roots i...

Re: Assembly module workflow
yes changing the datums inside the parts works, the sweep updates. However moving the parts itself does not work, the sweep stays at it is I made a false assumption on this one  I thought the external link would stay with the datum feature wherever i was placed in the global coordinate system...

Re: Assembly module workflow
Not realy. Datum features do not take the Parts position into account (e.g. a datumplane at origin xy is always at xy 0 in any part it is referenced to, no matter where the original part and the one holding the reference are). Hence with this system it is not possible to model parts dependend on th...

Assembly module workflow
Hi! I am trying to imagine how the workflow will be for the new part design together with the future assembly module. But since i have no idea how the actual implementation of the assembly module will be,i have some questions out of curiosity. Will there be possible to have nested parts so that a new...

Re: Test Request: Part Design Workflow
Hi Danny! I do use ubuntu 14.04.2 so that might do the difference in the behavior of the std::set_difference() since the implementation of the standard library might be a bit different. When i loaded the attached file you provided i double clicked on MainBody right away to activate it for further ed...

Re: Test Request: Part Design Workflow
After editing the duplicated sketch (Sketch001), I can't perform the pocket operation. I get the following popup "No valid sketches in this document, Please create a sketch or 2d object first". Maybe because the duplicated sketch is not part of the MainBody. Hi Danny and Sorry for the lat...

Re: Test Request: Part Design Workflow
Sorry,i misunderstood the question  When i open the attached file sketch002 is on the XZ plane. xyxz.png Somewhere in the document structure i must still remain in the right plane.I had something similar issues with a sweep path that got mapped on the wrong plane a while ago.But in that case t...

Re: Test Request: Part Design Workflow
"sketch" seems to be directly on the XY base plane. If you open the edit dialog for DatumPlane it will display the base planes and axis. Baseplanes.png If you would later want to move the sketch to an other datum plane you can select the plane you want to place it on and select map sketch t...
