Re: Sheet Metal Workbench

When you make the bottom fold you should first make the extend:
bend1.jpg
bend1.jpg (15.98 KiB) Viewed 99 times
then do the fold all over the bottom:
The attachment bend2.jpg is no longer available

Re: Creating threads

Cutting a thread with bolt gives you a "negative" bolt thread which is mechanically incorrect. To make a "real" threaded hole, there is a special arbitrary length "tap" rod that you then cut from your object: innerth.png If it is made for 3D printing, there is a section in the settings that lets you...

Re: Fasteners Workbench

In FreeCad 0.18/0.19 (uses OCC v7.3) some of the Fasteners exhibit this issue. If you try FreeCad V0.17 it will work. (This is what I do when I need to 3D print threads)

Re: Fasteners workbench based on screw-maker

You first need to set the option for 3d printed mode. (in preferences after you select fastener workbench)
And then, yes, the rod with be wider by several percent, so there will be enough gap to avoid friction.

Re: Fasteners workbench based on screw-maker

Using this workbench the only way to make inner threads is to use the inner thread tool. This tool generates an arbitrary length threaded rod which you then place on the location you want to set an inner thread, then use boolean subtraction to create the inner thread. innerth.png B.T.W this rod is s...

Re: 3D printing threads

I have managed to 3d print workable threads using standard FDM printer.
The fasteners workbench have a setting that generate threads compatible with 3d printers.
