For some other reasons I have had to reformat the PC and install Windows 10.
Chitubox is also installed and everything works fine.
Unfortunately I will never know what was going wrong.

Here is what says VS I do not understand how CHITUBOX can be involved, there is no reference in any Windows environment variable to its path.

Re: FreeCAD O.19 crashes while opening a file.
Hello,
The problem does not exist any longer, whatever the build of FreeCAD I use.
I believe the installation of the latest version of VS has changed something on my system that solves the problem.
Therefore, I cannot investigate any further.
Thank you for your help and the time spent.

Re: FreeCAD O.19 crashes while opening a file.
OK thank you. I did not do strange things. I recently updated and installed modules. I uninstalled all modules, and I emptied the folder mod for the modules installed manually. I removed the FreeCAD installation folder and decompressed the archive to have a fresh installation and remove potential fa...

Re: dot in filename issue with new backup policy
I make clear why I choose the dot as separator once more. The name of the archive and the file must be identical if we remove the 2 last extensions. I will check this is properly implemented I think one control may miss. This is a simple criteria, whatever character has been included in the base-nam...

Re: dot in filename issue with new backup policy
Chris If I understand well you are against this change right.
I also feel this anti-malware we do not even know the name is the problem.
For the moment I do not move!

Re: dot in filename issue with new backup policy
Could we all agree here that using parenthesis will be acceptable, and that would stop this polemic topic? To be clear I would add the date between parenthesis at the end of the base name, before the last extension. If agreed I will implement this and push a PR. It will not be done today as anyway I...

Re: dot in filename issue with new backup policy
Again if you do so the archives will not be properly identified between 2 project with names beginning the same as
project.FCStd
Project-1.FCStd
The parenthesis seems to be a solution, let me know
