Re: How to understand "Enable STEP compoud merge"

But the truth is still unclear as for which is "(slower but higher details)", "compound merge" or "no compound merge"? This goes back in first attempt to add hierarchy to FC STEP loader; the coder needed a way to load complex hierarchy files faster (but loosing the detailed hierarchy) and then adde...

Re: Bug - Export Compressed STEP file (.stpz)

Ok, but the menu item shows (.stpz and .stpZ) And the input field gives us the freedom to add the file name, so If the user wrote `.stpz` it should use the same, shouldn't? I've coded adhering to the 'Recommended Practices for STEP File Compression' ... the file can be renamed '.stpz' by the user a...

Re: Bug - Export Compressed STEP file (.stpz)

Minor but related issue 3. I added the filename 'object_part_color.stpz' and it was referring to it as 'object_part_color.stpZ'. It is not using the fille name I added there (lower case extension) this is by design... if you refer to Recommended Practices for STEP File Compression doc you will see ...

Does this limitation also apply to Assembly3? It is now included in the conda builds.
Assembly4 & Assembly3 are both fine because are built using full solid models.

Re: Exporting FreeCad models to SolidWorks and/or Fusion 360

I am interested in projects using mostly the Part Workbench and assemblies using the A2Plus, for instance. STEP is the viable solution for interoperability ATM, but I wouldn't suggest to use A2Plus to create assemblies to be exported to STEP. A2Plus creates shells of imported parts, and then the so...

Hello,
However, if I export the complete design to STEP and re-inport it again, it looks like this:
You would need to add a Part container that will contain all your models, then export the top level container...

Hi folks,
I'm struggling on how to set the machine origin at the center of the stock in order to mill a circular shape.
If I have understood correctly your question, you could use Aliger of Manipulator WB
.
