Re: Python3 and Qt5 Compatible Addon Workbenches (in preparation for 0.18)

BTW also Draft has an issue on py3 I can't reproduce (at least with a modified script, as the script in the reported state doesn't work for me). Maybe this was fixed in the meantime. OS: Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.18.14975 (Git) Build type: Re...

Re: Python3 and Qt5 Compatible Addon Workbenches (in preparation for 0.18)

BTW. Maurice pathed my Part-o-magic, so I can probably say it has Py3 compatibility now. Not sure about Qt5 though. it is also Qt5 compatible, for the main commands I tested... I use the @sgrogan 'FreeCAD_0.18.14979_Conda_Py3QT5-WinVS2015_x64' builds to test it. BTW also Draft has an issue on py3 h...

Re: Utility to inspect OpenCascade models

This looks like the Defeaturing Workbench capability that is available and based on OCC7.3: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=29506 the defeaturing improvements have been addressed by @Chris_G here https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?style=4&f=10&t=29523#p241870 and included i...

Re: help on sheet metal script

I did experiment with the new features to create drawings. Exporting the Visgroups into a DXF-file is no problem. It turns out, that it is difficult to put the bendlabels into a Techdraw drawing. The bendlabels are Draft-text. The bendlabels can be put into a Techdraw drawing by inserting a DraftVi...

Hi Maurice,

Path creates a bounding box of a selected object.
unfortunately wrl doesn't get a shape in FC representation, so even Path cannot do anything with it.

Re: [SOLVED] How to set tolerance on Part Cut/Fuse operations

I don't understand. sorry for not being clear... I use for example: result_shape = shapeBase.cut(shapeTool, fuzzyTolerance) but the result shape will not change if I change shapeBase after the operation, as instead it will change in a normal Cut Gui operation I've almost done it, and then forgot ab...

Re: imported wrl: howto get a bounding box?

If you want to see what the IV ASCII text representation looks like: print(iv) There is a transform section, which could be parsed: Transform { translation 0 0 0 rotation 0 0 1 0 scaleFactor 1 1 1 center 0 0 0 } Thanks, some little improvements: (Rotation doesn't seem to work correctly ATM :( ) Att...

Re: [SOLVED] How to set tolerance on Part Cut/Fuse operations

For fuzzy fusion, fused_shape = shape1.multiFuse([shape2], 0.1)) I wonder, why isn't it added to Part Booleans. I think I might give it a go, it's an easy change. All standard BOA operations have support for multiple arguments and fuzzy boolean tolerance can be set in FreeCAD: https://forum.freecad...

Re: imported wrl: howto get a bounding box?

Excellent. I added these 3 lines to your code: print ('xmin=',xmin,' xmax=',xmax) print ('ymin=',ymin,' ymax=',ymax) print ('zmin=',zmin,' zmax=',zmax) Draft.makeLine(Base.Vector(xmin,ymin,zmin),Base.Vector(xmin,ymin,zmax)) Draft.makeLine(Base.Vector(xmin,ymin,zmin),Base.Vector(xmax,ymin,zmin)) Dra...
