Re: Stand for AS365 Helicopter Hoist Trainer
Aperantly there will be a green screen behind and below with vr goggles. Not sure what the buget for that is. I'm just happy it's up there and will not fall down. Big fan and load speakers sound more my style along with some flashing lights

Re: Stand for AS365 Helicopter Hoist Trainer
The red airframe was a stl file provided to me by a third party. As it turns out the landing gear position was not very accurate. Overal length and hight were pretty close.

Re: Stand for AS365 Helicopter Hoist Trainer
The cuts in the drawing were done in a round about way. A bit of a hack really. With the part work bench I made a simple copy of the frame assembly then I used boolean cut to get rid of the parts I did not need for the drawing view. This works but it is not parametric and if you update the model you...

Re: Stand for AS365 Helicopter Hoist Trainer
Thanks
Wish I could share more.
I learned a lot. Huge improvements have been made in Freecad since my last big CAD project a 30 inch anchor winch completely done in freecad 0.16.
I wish I could share some of those pictures but I don't have permission.

Stand for AS365 Helicopter Hoist Trainer
First off thank you to all the developers of Freecad. Here are some pictures of a recently completed project. The initial conceptual drawings and construction drawings were all done with Freecad. The FEM analysis was done by a 3rd party using solid works as I don't have the professional qualificatio...

Re: Imperial Dimentions Displayed with mm Values no conversion happening
Thanks for looking after this uwestoehr !!
Unfortunately we live in a world where we have to work with both metric units and imperial units.
Drives me nuts some time.

Imperial Dimensions Displayed with mm Values no conversion happening
Has any one else noticed this. In the last 10 days or so something has changed in how freecad calculates dimensions shown on the page. If I have my freecad global units settings set to US Customary, Imperial Decimal or any other non metric setting I get the mm value proceeded by the imperial unit on...

Re: Units entry missing from .dxf file export.
I have have opened a ticket as requested (tracker ID 0004517) and referenced this thread was not sure how to attribute to yorik. Ok this should be simple to fix indeed... And it makes sense as FreeCAD basically always exports in mm, at least for now. I'll look at this ASAP. Would you mind opening a ...

Re: Units entry missing from .dxf file export.
Thank you I think this is an old problem I think. Your work around is much more elegant than mine. In Freecad 0.16 I had problems where Autodesck programs would not open the .dxf files exported from freecad. to get around this I would open them with libre Cad and then use the Save as function in lib...
