Re: add-on manager only lists one (1) WB

Thanks Kunda,

But I prefer to continue with 18. As my existing models are in that version.

Secondly, I am getting issues with 19 as well. (actually with installing CfdOF, but I shall go that Forum Branch separately)

Hopefully, somebody knows what is going on with my version 18.

add-on manager only lists one (1) WB

Dear Forum, Trying to re- install FreeCAD on a Linux machine (Mint 19.3). I followed the PPA instructions on https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Install_on_Unix and used this ppa:freecad-maintainers/freecad-stable. Upon starting FreeCAD, this is the trouble: The add-on manager only lists one (1) WB. In fact...

Re: Export Ruled Surface to STEP format

Yes Chris, I am aware of the errors. Nevertheless, there is only one last operation that turns the model into something that cannot be exported to step. That last operation does not render the "errors" (they are there before). The said operation is to slice the model inside a cylinder (one of the bo...

Export Ruled Surface to STEP format

Dear Forum, I am wrestling for several hours now with this very simple thing: to export a ruled surface to STP format. The export activity results in an empty step file. Could anybody please give me a suggestion of how-to? I attach a sample document. test.FCStd Roland OS: Windows 10 Word size of OS:...

Re: HiSa Boundary Conditions

Hi ssiemons, probably the basic question is whether HiSA is a suitable solver for internal compressible flow (piping, reactors, etc). I observe that all the examples provided by the developers are about flows that are external to bodies such as air foils. Hopefully the developers can give a clue. Or...

Re: User experience - Default constraints

Dear FC/CfdOF developers We discovered some more issues related to the topic of this thread. Previously we assumed that for creating noSlip conditions for default faces it was sufficient to manually edit the case/0/U file. This was a mistake (for turbulent analyses). The required edits involve also ...

Re: User experience - Default constraints

Thanks Oliver, Please consider contributing this change and issuing a pull request on the github project. I am not a coder. If I were, I would try to make such contribution. For now, my contribution is necessarily limited to sharing my experience, and making a suggestion. Please accept. Best regards...

Fail to install HISA

Dear Forum, I tried to install HISA, and went through the tutorials to check for any issues. None of the tutorials work because HISA was not found: --> FOAM Warning : From function bool Foam::dlLibraryTable::open(const Foam::fileName&, bool) in file db/dynamicLibrary/dlLibraryTable/dlLibraryTable.C ...

Re: User experience - Default constraints

@thschrader Why dont you adress all faces of the body with the boundary-conditions you need before case-writing? Well, 98 faces? Of which only 10 or so can be touched / clicked from the outside when in the Task View to select boundary faces? (it's just one example). Admittedly, one can draw up a bo...
