Re: Display dimensions in feet?
That makes perfect sense, and is intuitively what I would have guessed. But... how hard would it be to do 100% on the graphics display end? For example, typing "6ft 3in" would never be accepted in any text input box, and would never be displayed in an expression. But, in drawings, dimensio...

Extrude tool doesn't accept units
The extrude tool's Length only accepts mm. Just wondering if I should report this as a missing feature on the bug tracker? I know the units still need a little development... but they work so well already that I'm inclined to report stuff like this. It's an exception, not the norm. Figured I should ...

Re: Display dimensions in feet?
I just meant, "yards is customary for whom?" Or, in other words, if I figure out a way to display "ft" instead of "yd" everywhere, would any profession be against this change? I wouldn't even be asking these imperialist questions except for the architecture workbench......

Re: (Draft WB) ft is refused but ' is accepted
I have a theory... The tooltip for the Finish button shows that its shortcut is "F". And that does appear to be what's happening. The Close button has a shortcut "C" but I can type "cm" just fine. There's still something a little weird here. Thanks jmaustpc. If you file...

(Draft WB) ft is refused but ' is accepted
Just curious if this is the intended behavior... - Start a wire - Type "26 ft" for Global X The moment you type the "f" in "ft", your point terminates. Or something happens, not sure exactly what. If you type "26'" (26 tick), everything works just fine. It too...

Re: Display dimensions in feet?
Yes, that makes sense. Allow users to create their own own unit groups, name them, and select them in the "User system" menu. I was hoping the document would remember which User System it should be displayed with. I'd like my architectural drawings to be displayed in feet, and I'd like to ...

Re: can't create dimension less than 1 inch
Here's what it looks like... First I try typing ".5" and FreeCAD just ignores me. Then I type "0.5" and it works. Then I select-all and type ".8mm". No leading zero. And that works! It turns out select-all inserts a leading zero automatically... I didn't realize that. I...

Re: Display dimensions in feet?
You're saying that ideally the UI would allow you to set arbitrary toggle points, something like this? - between 0 and 3mm: display mils (thousandths of an inch) - between 3mm and 304mm: display inches - between 304mm and 1609000mm: display feet - between 1609000mm and infinity: display miles Would ...

Re: Display dimensions in feet?
OK, I'll look into compiling. You've got inches right now! Just set Prefs->General->Units to "Imperial decimal" and always type a leading 0 (i.e. type "0.125 in", not ".125 in", http://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=14323&p=114908#p114779). I haven't f...

Re: Mac pre-release download way behind Windows version
That was it! Thanks. The SpaceMouse works great in -6510.
