[SOLVED] Segmentation fault in section
Hi, I get reproducible crashes, if I try to set a dimension to a line, which is in a section, but not completely. I know, that's mostly not useful, but I think it should not crash. To reproduce, open the attached drawing, select one of the vertical lines in the section view and press the "verti...

Re: tourbillon spring animation
Hi, the movement of the hair spring is a very complicated task. First you have to construct the spring. the spiral spring is quite easy. But the endcurve has an exact calculated shape. This is needed so that the center of mass of the spring is always in the center of the balance. If you are not the ...

Re: Native file dialogs
For enabling or disabling such support: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=30340&start=180#p273068 Thank you for the link. As others have already pointed out, currently a lot of issues can be expected. And there is no easy fix to improve things. In the last days I dug much in...

Re: Native file dialogs
I would much prefer the native dialogue myself, unfortunately it is utterly broken in GNOME, the file extension isn't added automatically when saving a new file; already saved files can't be opened again if they don't have the file extension. You are right, that the file extension is not added auto...

Native file dialogs
Hi, I use xfce on debian, where the file dialogs normally come from Gtk+. So it bothered me, that FC do not use the native file dialogs from the system, but the ones from Qt. The only exception I found till now, is the import dialog from a2plus, which uses the system dialogs. I don't want to offend ...

Re: Another approach to assembly solver (A2plus)
Hi, I hope that I don't bug you. But I have the next issue. It seems to me that sub-assemblies do not like balls / spheres. If I have an assembly which contains a ball, where it doesn't matter if it is a Part ball or a handish made PartDesign one, and I include this assembly into an other assembly, ...

Re: Another approach to assembly solver (A2plus)
Hi, now I got it. Thank you! There remains a question, that is most probably wrong here :D : If the kind of cut I made is wrong and the result not allowed, why is it not prevented by FreeCAD, even if FreeCAD detects the error? Or is there a reasonable use case for the wrong way? For me it would be ...

Re: Another approach to assembly solver (A2plus)
Hi, as long as you use the bodies of PartDesign for a Part-WB cut operation A2plus should import the result fine. (If not, please report this and provide a file). Problems are caused by cut operations of Part WB to shapes inside of a body. Usually if doing this, you also get error prints of PartDes...
