Re: Measurements quirk

Ouch! - I assume this is to avoid cyclic references. *sigh* This might reveal the actual freecad version (above): $ snap list | grep -E 'freecad|core|store|snapd' core 16-2.45.2 9665 latest/stable canonical* core core18 20200707 1880 latest/stable canonical* base core20 20 634 latest/stable canonica...

Re: Measurements quirk

More:

Create a "blue" constraint, try to reference it in the same sketch -> Nope.

hh - is the 100.5 measure, trying to use it for the (106mm) slanted white line on the left.

Re: Math relations among dimensions in a sketch

Just for fun, with slightly random "control" - check out the attached file. Open it in FC 0.19. Find the Combo view (left side panel) Expand the tree so that you see the Sketch Double click (i.e. Edit) the Sketch -> The /Tasks\ tab will activate - with the Sketch Click the /Model\ tab for one single...

Re: formulas in the combo view...

With my experience using FreeCAD I would never type in complex numbers like that and expect it to work flawless. I use the program to work on models and I want them to be correct so I would bust out the calculator, do the math and insert the number. I'm after success not what the program will do wr...

Re: formulas in the combo view...

exp()? a mistake? ;-) Normally you say "value =power(base, exponent)" So "Exponent is not allowed to have a unit" - if you read it just as is, it tells that the second argument should not have a unit. It does not mention the base at all, so the normal interpretation can not contain a "base". Based o...

Re: formulas in the combo view...

... and when you go "1/3mm" there is another one => "Exponent is not allowed to have a unit", slightly contraditcory IMO.

Re: Sketcher tutorial

---8<--- Any suggestions? You can always add missing coincidence constraints manually. I often find the auto-constraints to be fairly sketchy, I get indication of constraints creation - still later find that none actually was created. Therefore I often avoid the automation; i.e. place a line (or wh...
