@Intermezzo: Welcome back to FreeCAD after a break of nearly 3 years ... ah well. I tried out some comercial software and calculix + salome. But it's not that much fun if it works or well...not. With freecad it's more like it works or it will be, or with some hacking macros workarounds it works par...

I'm also searching for a possibility to draw hidden lines dotted. Is there any solution yet? If it is any help, there is now a property for the line thickness and another for hidden line thickness, so that you can differentiate them based on line thickness. Thanks but that doesn't help.
