Re: shadows in the freecad viewport

Only, the FreeCAD viewport doesn't have tools to replace the scenegraph. This would probably cause some problems too, as some tools likely wouldn't find their children anymore. But it would be cool to allow to add a SoShadowGroup to the main view. Need to look at how to do that correctly.. This act...

Re: Building Libs for Windows Debug Version with VS2017/Qt5.12

For some years now I use QtCreator as IDE and there the Debug and Release build directories are completely separate. If the later how do you manage the .pdb files? But for testing purposes I use msbuild from the command line which VS internally uses, too. There debug in release libraries are in a co...

Re: postprocessing

Re: mesher: what does option "Two-side rendering"

If it's on then the bottom side of the surface will be rendered the same way is the top side. If it's off then it depends on the setting of the backlight color (under Display > 3D view). If it's enabled the defined color will be used, otherwise it's black.

Re: tooltip revision project

One remark about tool tips: The application name "FreeCAD" shouldn't be hard-coded in strings shown to the GUI because this breaks the branding quite heavily. Instead the function getExecutableName() of App::Application must be used. So, this means that those tool tips where FreeCAD is hard-coded ei...

Re: BaseExport causing parse errors in Qt Creator

Here is a way to suppress the clang error messages about the export macros: https://doc.qt.io/qtcreator/creator-project-generic.html#specifying-defines You follow the steps to import an existing project and call it e.g. FreeCAD. This will create the file FreeCAD.config and there you can add the line...
