Would be so great to have an easily usable rendering solution in FreeCAD.
CADRays has proven as a great "quick'n'dirty" solution, allowing to import structured STEP Files and assign materials really easily.

Re: Photo-realistic rendering of FreeCAD models with CADRays
That really is a shame. I enjoy using CadRays, at it is by way the simplest and fastest solution for quick good looking renders.
Just import the STEP File with having the parts structure still intact, assign some materials to these parts - done.

Re: Merging of my Link branch
I must say, I also fear that the is developing more and more into a fork. This thread is now 4 months old, and it seems somehow, there is no interest in merging. I would have expected at least a real discussion, if a merge is possible, or what needs to be done to make it possible would happen, but t...

Re: Merging of my Link branch
After all asm3 is never be Freecad 2 or what so ever... it is just a huge developmemt branch. Thats the question, what happens without a merge. I for instance use the Assembly3 branch like a FreeCAD 2 version. It might be buggy and incomplete, but the main branch without Assembly is missing THE imp...

Re: Assembly3 preview
A big thank you from me too, I also dropped a small donation (and aswell already did to some other developers where I knew how to do that). I absolutely appreciate you fantastic work, and really am looking forward to it. The main missing aspects in FreeCAD for me currently are an Assembly module wor...
