Re: Suggestion: op depth control and visualizations

1. Different depth could be visualized using colored, translucent planes. "À la Fusion" This is a very complicated implementation. It could potentially require a op-by-op update since they are mostly unique. Or, this might be a bit easier than that by targeting the `Base Geometry` selection code an...

I think what you want to do is select the two faces and add a 3D pocket op

Re: Bad paths on sloping edges.

This appears to be working correctly. You said you added a pocket operation but your file has a face profile operation. When viewed straight down, you see that it is profiling inside the projection of the face. This is not a 3D operation so it's doing what it was designed to do. It's gouging into th...

Re: Suggestion: op depth control and visualizations

I really dig the NYC CNC channel. (Also Clickspring and This Old Tony, but that's beside the point :D ) That said, I try not to look TOO close at Fusion or any other application. Nor do I try to emulate them directly. They're different applications with a different audience, history, tool kit, etc. ...

Re: Postprozessor for Heidenhain TNC 410 ?

Could you provide a working gcode file for a standard test shape? For example profile a square shape 300mm x 300mm with a 25mm radius on the corners. Then we could compare the phillips output to what the Heidenhain expects for the same shape. If you can grab a log of the errors from the machine, tha...

Re: Postprozessor for Heidenhain TNC 410 ?

You'll find lots of help here to customize a post for the Heidenhain or even create a new one if that's what it takes.
But we'll need a little more to go on than:

For those who like round numbers, here's one: 50 thousand YouTube views on the 0.18 release video. Not bad bad for a month!

I think that's the fix. Rebuild from source or wait for the next daily build.

Re: Adaptive Path/CAM Operation

I'm not arguing. I'm just trying understand the value of implementing the adaptive waterline independently when the OCL waterline does the same thing but with the added benefit of tool shape awareness. I'm not opposed to implementing temporary solutions but, to quote the Zen of Python, "There should...

Re: dog-gone dog-bone.

Have made some progress on isolating the problem with Contour. Markus traced it to the getEnvelope() call in PathUtils where it calls Path.Area.makeSections() and dies in the C++ Traceback (most recent call last): File "/home/brad/.FreeCAD/Macro/testarea.FCMacro", line 17, in <module> area.makeSecti...
