Re: Invalid gcode after uploading to cncjs

I pasted the gcode into ncviewer.
The gcode looks correct.

Re: [Issue 12345] Sketcher Construction Geometry created in the wrong coordinates on Fedora 38 and Debian 12

@sliptonic if your staff don't have the facilities to thoroughly test their code on at the very least two platforms then why should I as a volunteer have to do it for Ondsel, this is completely unacceptable. You're a volunteer. You don't "have" to do anything. Like anyone else, if you wan...

Re: Vcarve not deep enough

I'm having a hard time imagining how the result would be anything other than terrible. Do you have an image of a cut that was done successfully this way (in any software)? Maybe I'm still misunderstanding. Things you could try: Lie to the software about what kind of tool you have. Define a V- bit wi...

Re: Vcarve not deep enough

Hmm, I think I see your point. But, in defining the carving operation, I select the bottom of the character as the base geometry, not its sides. So I would expect that the tool is going down until the bottom is reached. That in that process the sides of the character are a bit widened is - for the ...

Re: Vcarve not deep enough

Toggle on the visibility of the tool. Then inspect the operation and find a line of gcode corresponding to an interesting segment. It will position the tool at that point.

It looks like it's operating correctly. The tool is going down until it hits the sides of the pocket.

Re: The design group

We've been lumping UI and UX together a lot. They are related but very different disciplines. UI is generally concerned with visual and aesthetic elements. Colors, iconography, typography, and layout. These things have a big impact on how fast people can understand and retain the information present...

Re: The design group

but don't worry, a fork is underway. It takes more time than we anticipated. Sorry about that As someone who has spent the last year trying to improve FreeCAD, I know how hard it is -- And I was trying to do it WITHOUT dividing the community. You're a smart guy. Smarter than me. I wish you all the ...

Re: The design group

Now what could we do about this? I don't know that there's anything that we can do....or should do. People will use the tools that they want to use and we can't mandate anything. We need to recognize the reality that the FreeCAD ecosystem is growing and there isn't one single community anymore. The...

Re: The design group

In my opinion we should please mostly people/companies who donate. Those companies don't need FreeCAD. They can give their money to the big boys and get their professional product for it. It is in everyone's best interest to have a viable open-source alternative. Even companies that never run FreeC...
