Willem wrote:when importing an SVG file made in Inkscape you have to realize that 1 px in Inkscape is imported as 1 mm in FreeCad.
I thought this was only the case for exporting. AFAIK the importer uses 90 dpi per default.

Re: FEM Einstieg

Re: Import Nurbs - Brep or Union/Fuse.

I don't fully understand what you mean by surfaces and lines. IMHO the default should be to obtain solids whenever possible (in the topological sense). If someone just doesn't really care about the nurbs he, will probably work with solids anyway. Is there anything special about these lines that woul...

Linker error "cannot find -lqt5::widgets"

Hello, I'm trying to build FreeCAD (branch "occt7bernd" ) on Debian 8.4. But i keep getting the error message "/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lQt5::Widgets". It seems to me that the trouble starts already with cmake: CMake Warning (dev) at src/Mod/MeshPart/Gui/CMakeLists.txt:62 (add_l...

Re: Compiling OCCT 6.9.1? or 7.0.0?

One huge problem in porting FreeCAD to a new version of OCCT is, IMHO, maintaining SMESH.
Moths ago I decided not to waste any of my time with our SMESH and to wait for OCCT.com to encounter the problems in SALOME first.

Re: autocad veteran wants to use freeCAD

Hello macro,
welcome to the FreeCAD forum. Please be a bit more specific in what you want to do. When you are used to the 1980s AutoCAD, then the Draft Workbench is probably the place for you to start.

That should not be necessary. But i would recommend to create a new local branch anyway. ("git branch backup_branch")
