Re: hide measures

Draft Array, and Part Design's Linear Pattern have their own little limitations on how I can put these hexagons on the cylinder Hi! I host Lattice2 add-on workbench aimed at arraying. Although I may be too difficult for you at the moment, and I feel like Draft Array is perfectly adequate for the pr...

Re: hide measures

Inkscape has a CAM plugin that will do SVG to Gcode. Shapeoko has a page on their Wiki that lists other helpful tools for Inkscape as well. Mark Yep, I just found that particular Shapeoko page and have been testing it out. It appears to produce a MUCH smaller gcode file. I may have solved my proble...

Re: hide measures

I'm confused. If I understand you, you want a honeycomb pattern applied to a cylinder. Are the hexagons padded out from the cylindrical surface, or are they pocketed (cut out) into the cylinder? In either case, how can a single sketch containing 2500 hexagons be useful here? What I'd try is to crea...

pattern of hexagons on cylinder

NOTE: this discussion was split off from other thread " hide measures ". --DeepSOIC, suggested by NormandC There's already a feature request on the bug tracker. But until a developer volunteers to implement it, this won't get done. The sketcher has not been worked on for most of the past ...

Re: hide measures

I hate to post to an old thread but despite the nay-sayers' comments, there are plenty of reasons to be able to hide constraints temporarily. I'm working with a project that has about 2500 hexagons, each with 4 or more constraints set by me(that's besides the constraints set on hexagons to begin wit...

honeycomb and a cylinder

(the info for my version, etc. is at the bottom but essentially I'm using the latest git) I'm working on a project where I need to essentially wrap a honeycomb pattern around a cylinder. I have already done this successfully manually by creating a hexagonal sketch, making a clone of it many times on...

Re: Need to replicate sketch down a cylinder(array problem)

create a new sketch, insert a hexagon in the sketch, box select (select all of the hexagon), then click on the array tool ...most of the rest should be self explanatory......except you have to click on one point in your hexagon then click on where you want the same point in the first copy hexagon.....

Re: Need to replicate sketch down a cylinder(array problem)

Version: 0.16.6397 (Git) in 0.16 there is a rectangular array tool in sketcher, edit a sketch then look at the tool bar, or look in PartDesign menu.... I SEE that tool but nothing I've done so far lets me use it, in Edit mode or otherwise that I can tell. Any tips on how to do so? Draft Arrays are ...

Need to replicate sketch down a cylinder(array problem)

Since Merge Sketches doesn't work as I need it to, I'm trying to find a way to replicate a sketch down a cylinder. In my opinion there really should be some way to copy/paste while you're working on a sketch but that doesn't seem to be possible at the moment so I gotta do what I can with what I got....

Re: How can I make an array of shapes on a sketch?

I maintain a whole workbench aimed at arraying, Lattice workbench. I'm used to figuring out CAD tools by trial and error. Sorry, but I have no idea how to use your workbench, and there is no explanation anywhere that I can see. Well, there is Lattice2 wiki , but it isn't very exciting. For many of ...
