Re: Rendering geometry in a QT window?

Is this going to be a library, like containing FreeCAD files, each having a standard bolt inside? The simplest solution IMHO would be to just provide a screenshot for each corresponding file in the library, and to show that image instead. https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/Macro_BOLTS If there is desir...

Re: appimage

Will need to do some testing, as if downgrading the system provided libexpat version helped, then i am guessing the one from the AppImage isn't being used ATM. P.S. I overlooked it worked with the AppImage and the issue started to occur with the PPA version: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.ph...

Re: How to embed a Python code into the document?

I don't see this happening anytime soon. Once it will happen we won't be talking about embedding Python code into the FreeCAD document anymore. But about extending expressions in a more limited way that has little to do with Python. Basically eliminating the need for asking end user for such permiss...

Re: Error in the install plugin simple "Assembly2"

This specific issue is related to FreeCAD stable PPA being borked ATM:

https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... =4&t=33071

Hence it's not directly Assembly 2 related issue.

Re: Macro_FCCamera no longer works

Hi Renato.

It works on my side on Ubuntu 16.04 using FreeCAD 0.18 (both on Py2/Qt4 and Py3/Qt5 builds).

Re: Assembly3 preview

Nice discussion conducted in the past couple of days. More of that for sure will help progress things further a bit faster. Note that there are likely further considerations involved, on the long run: https://forum.freecadweb.org/download/file.php?id=74335 https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?...

Re: assembly without solver

I see use cases: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=32843&start=100#p277800 But IMHO you won't be able to sell this as a general and a direct replacement for a robust assembly solver. For one bolts in an assembly usually don't stick in all directions. ;) Usually end user does need mor...
