Re: Porting to python3

I am doing this already for conda-packages, but the download numbers compared to appimages are not that high. So I expect more issues reported. Most of them wil be python3-related. Yes exactly. As you are already doing this and likely will continue to invest effort in the foreseeable future. It mak...

Re: Porting to python3

@looo I tested your latest AppImage on Ubuntu 14.04 and i don't experience the libTKMath.so.7: undefined symbol issue anymore. When trying to enter the Sketcher workbench. After i tested the procedure to create an AppImage from Conda packages. I was able to succeed by combining your instructions and...

Re: Porting to python3

I have no idea how the current appimage-process works, but it looks quite difficult. (I think the current appimages also uses some environment-variables to find the right libraries...) Currently we reuse the work done by PPA/Ubuntu/Debian package maintainers. Not just FreeCAD/OCC stuff but everythi...

Re: Porting to python3

Anyway as for the short version. The goal is to produce (daily) FreeCAD Py3 AppImage. And ATM i don't care if it is PPA/Conda based or if we do them both. And if in any workbench a problem is detected or not. We can addresses that after. I am familiar with the whole procedure on how to create AppIma...

Re: Porting to python3

Can you explain? if we suggest to use appimages on non debian based system I guess we cannot guarantee for system-libraries having the same name as bundled libraries. Therefor I guess setting some environment variables is absolutely necessary. Travis produced around 400 daily FreeCAD Py2/Qt4 AppIma...

Re: Porting to python3

Maybe the system libTKMath is used instead of the bundled. Isn't libTKMath a occt library?Maybe I have to reanable this line: https://github.com/looooo/freecad_conda_appimage/blob/master/AppDir/AppRun#L4 That is the exact problem i want to avoid. When reusing PPA/Ubuntu/Debian packages somebody els...

Re: FreeCAD Website Design

For now best if we focus on improving the design aspect of our current home page. For achieving that goal we don't need CMS. And in addition introducing CMS wouldn't help much in this regard.

Re: Porting to python3

Yes this is interesting. Maybe there is something wrong with your system/config? I can't reproduce this on 16.04. If nobody else will try i can try again tomorrow as likely i won't have much more free time today. On fresh Ubuntu 16.04. For now i only had a quick option to try on Ubuntu 14.04. Tryin...
