Re: FreeCAD on the web

If you look at the content of the subreddit you'll see it mostly serves as a funnel to direct people to interesting things on the forum. The way I see it, people are going to talk about FreeCAD on other popular sites whether we want them to or not, it's a matter of whether we want to have a voice in...

Re: Another FOSS project making the 1.0 jump: SuperTuxKart

Tyson Tan is an artist who draws mascots for FOSS projects, he suggested a beaver which seems a reasonable place to start.

Another FOSS project making the 1.0 jump: SuperTuxKart

http://blog.supertuxkart.net/2019/04/supertuxkart-10-release.html Yes, if you have followed our development a bit, that might be a bit of a surprise. But we have been asked why we don't call this release 1.0, and the majority of us developers discussed this and decided that indeed this release is a ...

Re: FreeCAD on the web

The FreeCAD subreddit just broke 1500 subscribers: https://www.reddit.com/r/FreeCAD/

Although the forum is clearly the central hub for communication, it's worth remembering that if we meet our users where they are, it can help grow the community, and Reddit is the 21st biggest website on the planet.

Re: FreeCAD Website Design

So yeah, the downloads page is back to 3 platforms and now each platform has links to the wiki for more instructions https://sharazali.github.io/FreeCAD-Homepage/downloads.html We are pretty close to a 0.18 release, if you get a chance could you do a version bump and make a PR for the downloads page?

Re: Release of 0.18

Just to double-check the problems with the Mac builds are the only remaining blocker for an official release announcement right?

Couldn't you test in other browsers before implementing this???
I haven't made any changes to the wiki recently, could you provide more context on what brought this issue about?

Re: Patching to display 0.18.1 & the topic of git commits/patch versions

That looks like a good option but we still need to accommodate daily builds somehow, and it would be nice to know what code the dailies were built on, so it would seem we would need either the git commit number or hash. It might be enough to include the date the package was built into its version nu...

Re: FreeCAD 18.1/Ubuntu 18.04.2. LTS: no workbenches after install

Unfortunately just deleting them would not fix the issue for people who already have the package installed, only prevent new people from getting it... to fix it for current users I'd have to upload new versions of the packages.
