Hi,

I solved my problem by installing version 4 of gmsh instead of version 2. 8-)

Thank for all.

Did you build it yourself or are you using the version from the Community-Extras PPA?

Re: Relicensing of OpenSees

I just made a post to the OpenSees Facebook page summarizing this issue to get feedback. Is there any outcome? Yep, I was advised to contact Frank McKenna who is one of the main OpenSees developers. For the record, I posted: Hi, I'm a Debian (Science Team) Maintainer, FreeCAD developer, and an engi...

I think for frame analysis we can use OpenSees
OpenSees has licensing issue :-(
I plan on contacting one of the main authors of OpenSees soon to inquire about the possibility of a license change.

You can even put the event on https://www.freepizza.io  Done! https://www.freepizza.io/group/austin-tx-jan-2019-debian-bug-squashing-party/event/view/austin-tx-jan-2019-debian-bug-squashing-party/ maybe we can simultaneously announce a documentation and translation sprint ? It might be better ...

Perhaps we should add a BUILD_MEDFILE_SUPPORT cmake flag.

Re: FEM future development

It's quite interesting but a bit unfortunate that it's GPL3. I've had several conversations in the past with the core developer (I. Romero) and he's suggested he's open to custom licensing for other open-source projects. His primary goal is to see adoption of his library, as he intended it to solve...

Dependency on a font. I must admit that feels rather unusual. ;)
Yes, I think that issue is kind of just a symptom which suggests the underlying problem.

Re: Next OpenSCAD release

Out of interest why was it dropped? Oppressing issues, no maintainer ... ? As the age of last release likely couldn't be it? Because of these two issues: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=883986 (openscad: FTBFS on mips/mipsel: virtual memory exhausted: Cannot allocate memory) and h...

Re: Dumpbackup for Offline Wiki

It would probably help to stand up a local backup of the wiki inside, e.g. a VM, and try it, which is something I could do. I had the same experience as Yorik. Being able to do that programmatically would also help AR795 have a test environment for editing the wiki theme, too.

3MF: 3D Manufacturing Format

I was just reading the OpenSCAD News and saw mention of import/export support for a new file format, 3MF: 3MF Import/Export The 3D Manufacturing Format (3MF) as defined by the 3MF Consortium is one of the contenders to take over from STL. With support for extended features like colors, materials, pr...
