Re: ubuntu and python3-pyside2uic

It's already been taken care of in cMake/FindPySide2Tools.cmake, if the Qt version is new enough it's just a matter of using rcc --generator=python instead of pyside2-rcc, same for uic and pyside2-uic. And on Debian/Ubuntu the necessary Qt package is qtbase5-dev-tools, version 5.14 minimum. So it's...

Re: ubuntu and python3-pyside2uic

Basically pyside2uic and pyside2rcc binaries' functionality was moved to Qt5's uic and rcc binaries Thanks, this speaks to what wmayer was saying. So in the future FreeCAD will need to be ported to use QT's native uic? And this will be packaged with QT somewhere? It's already been taken care of in ...

Please report such posts. You can do it by PM to a moderator, to not reveal how you detected it. "nofollow" is a hint for search engine bots to not follow a link. If you click on it it should still lead you to the target. I think what throwaway1 was saying is that people posting these links in this...

Re: ubuntu and python3-pyside2uic

Unfortunately the Ubuntu 20.04 release people took my experimental pyside2 package out of Debian Experimental even though it wasn't ready due to this change regarding rcc and uic  Basically pyside2uic and pyside2rcc binaries' functionality was moved to Qt5's uic and rcc binaries, but the versio...

Re: FreeCAD partnership with Software Freedom Conservancy

It can take a while for the application to be reviewed, IIRC they have monthly meetings to handle it and it's done in order. If we don't hear back from them in a month or two I can reach out to check on the status. Hi Kurt! Any news on this topic? No updates so far, I last checked in maybe 2 weeks ...

Re: sketch overlay for sketch

There is still an active community around Debian on m68k for example keeping them alive, very cool IMO Not an Atari machine but I recently saw this quite interesting video on another m68k machine, the Sharp X68000 Pro - especially interesting to me as apparently this was the dev machine used for mak...

Re: [FR] When pasting code from the Python Console please auto-edit the preceeding '>>>' chars for a clean paste

Most text editors have a Find & Replace option, where you could look for '>>> ' and replace with ''. Ctrl+C should work the normal way, with a convenience option in the right-click menu to copy only the underlying Python code.

Re: SUGGESTION: inform of fundamental limitations on the main page of freecadweb.org

From an outreach/marketing perspective I'm not sure I'd use that particular phrasing, but at the very least something like a prominent FAQ on the homepage containing that information would be good.
