Re: How to set the black theme in MainGui?

the main Gui for freecad is black theme No, it is not. Sure looks black to me! (I think this is a language difficulty.) In any case the very top title bar is set by your operating system. You did not tell us which one, but they all allow the user to change the colors of every part of the disp...

Re: How to understand "Enable STEP compound merge"

My comments were directed at the 100% conflict between the tool tip and the wiki.

Regardless of what actually happens, the wording is incorrect in at least one of these descriptions.

Re: Another ERROR when exporting the G-Code

I occasionally see some sort of problems that can only be solved by restarting FreeCAD. Typically this occurs after some some of error and an attempt at correction. A recompute usually works, but not always. There is probably some parameter somewhere that does not reset correctly after an undo. Diff...

Re: Another ERROR when exporting the G-Code

May not be helpful, but the g-code generation worked fine for me. Re: Merge sketches and other questions

I got numerous errors about the improper uses of "holes". It appears that you are using these objects for general purposes rather than for threaded holes. Threaded holes have specific requirements for thread sizes that do not work correctly for general purpose openings. Use "pocket" instead. It is u...

Re: As a beginner, should I use "release" 0.18 or "development" 0.19?

If Freecad does not play with Win 7, x64, it would save aspiring users using Win 7 a lot of time simply to say so. Don't let the Windows 10 and Linux bigots get to you. I use Windows 7 x64, and it works perfectly with all versions of FreeCAD. Yes, Windows 7 is getting old, and ultimately the ...

Re: Minor bug - Strange characters

I recall there was some animated debate in the forum a year or two ago. Some people said they hated the use of a hyphen instead of a bullet.

I agree that keeping everything simple is by far the best plan. Hyphens work fine.

Re: Is it possible to nest parts / bodies for milling?

I think there are two somewhat different concepts being discussed. "Nesting" typically involves optimized packing of individual objects onto a minimum area substrate. Copy, array, etc. will make copies and place them as directed, but without any internal intelligence. Not completely clear what the O...

I think the tooltip is wrong. See the wiki on "Import_Export_Preferences".

Anywhere in FC you can try to enter as expression '= 0.2 mm + 5' and it will fail with exact same error. ;)
Not the same appearance. It appears to be a WYSIWYG bug.

If it is not really in units of 'mm' then the cell should not mislead the user by showing 'mm'.
