Re: seams on round objects
I have wrote a feature request here: Hide the seam edges and only show the non-seam edges in the OpenGL render · Issue #614 · tpaviot/oce in the OCE's ticket system, I think an option is needed here. Is there already such option in OCE? I don't know. First thing, I doubt the OCE guys could address ...

Re: seams on round objects
Yep. I'm having a look at this avenue now. My hope is that there could be some minor change to how FreeCAD calls the OCC functions to generate some of these primitives so that the shapes would be generated without seams. In OCC, a Sphere is: - a half circle curve -> an Edge - a revolution of the Ed...

Re: URDF Workbench, robotics
So i make progress i guess: https://youtu.be/56LOty4Yh1E The new part structure makes my life very easy. More stuff coming soon. Great job, I also try to construct some robot arm under FreeCAD, but before I see your video, I used the animation wb, see my post here: Re: rotation along a selected axi...

Re: Extra Line in Models
Hi, is it possible simply hide the seam line when I do a simple snapshot: Menu->Tools->Save Pictures. Or, just simply disable it in the main 3D view window. I have just found one post: Hide seam lines | OPEN CASCADE , but I'm not sure whether this can be done inside FreeCAD. Basically, it's a line ...

Re: relationship of two parts: child and parent
I have the same version of FreeCAD and it works, so I hope you have the manager active (means visible) In this case the Placers are controlled by the Manager and the dialog/dialer has no effect. Two ways you can work: a) hide the manager but let the placer visible b) move the placer from the manage...

Re: relationship of two parts: child and parent
The problem with the Placer and compound is that changing the placements of the components does not change the compound because the internals of the execute function of object proxys. I have a trick: I use a toucher object that forces a recompute for the compound see this http://forum.freecadweb.or...

Re: relationship of two parts: child and parent
@ microelly2 I found an issue of your animation workbench, if an object is added to a compound, then in its associated Placer dialog, I can still change its translation or rotation by the noodle, but the button "backword" and "forward" do not works any longer. If it does not in a...

Re: relationship of two parts: child and parent
Thanks for your replies. I will just wait for the next release. :D @ microelly2 In your animation workbench: Is it possible that when I try to set the "target" of object in the "Placer" dialog, the object's translation and rotation is automatically fetched to the dialog? For me, ...

Re: Higher Appreciation to the Part::compound
It looks like I have asked a quite similar question today, see:
relationship of two parts: child and parent
Not sure what is the status of such feature.
