Re: Postprocessor off LinuxCNC no longer works

Thanks all,
I guess just adapting to a new linuxcnc_post.py is the way to go then. Easy.
The error message itself (that I posted in my edit) contained a path to it. How very embarrassing...

Postprocessor off LinuxCNC no longer works [SOLVED!]

Dear forum, my FreeCAD-daily hasn't updated for more than half a year, so I suspect that we have moved to using AppImage instead. Installing it went great and updating it, too. Yippee! However, my customized post processor based on the one for LinuxCNC no longer works. It fails on this line for a mi...

Re: Dressup after dressup?

Thank you all so much!
Even the tiniest quirks can make rookies like me stumble, as you can't be sure how things are supposed to work. I tried Russ' macro and all went well.
There seems to be a bug report in GitHub regarding the active flag already #8672.

Dressup after dressup? [SOLVED]

Dear forum, after a couple of year's inactivity on my part, I now realize that I have never tried to use more than one dressup at the same time. Here I am, trying to use a profile operation on sheet brass. It needs holding tags, so that's dressup #1. Since an end mill can't plunge into brass, I also...

Re: Is there a ramping tool path

I found it! It IS in fact not in the operation itself, but in the ramp dressup that you apply afterwards.

Re: Is there a ramping tool path

I have done it many times, but can not find the setting anymore. It used to be in the operation dialog (pocket for instance) itself as one of the parameters for stepdown. You could choose from several alternatives. There are many mills that are unable to plunge. Here is a circular hole I made with p...

Re: part wb part design wb

@cahlfors: If you can follow the German explanations, then this video may have what you are looking for. Basically the file created with the Part workbench is copied (to preserve the original in case of problems) and then everything but the sketches are deleted from the copy. Afterwards these sketc...

Re: part wb part design wb

Hm, interesting! I did read the wiki article above and that is what lead me to believe that the part design wb is more efficient. In my head, I think like part design, but it seems that I am assuming too much and part wb doesn't quite behave like I expect. One thing is when I go back to refine my de...
