Adaptive path: tool breakage at end of pass

Disclaimer: I'm no machinist. I've been using adaptive tool paths for milling aluminum for quite a while with generally good results. I have, however, noticed that tools tend to break at the end of a profiling operation and I have not been able to diagnose the issue. I've tried different feed rates,...

Re: Multiple entities in dxf export

Thank you both for the replies. Installing the dxf library did the trick. I'm off to cut parts!

Re: Multiple entities in dxf export

Thanks for the reply. I'll update OCC.

Attached is what I see upon opening the file you provided. Not sure what's up.

Multiple entities in dxf export

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. When exporting the attached file as a dxf for laser cutting, it creates a file appearing to have four copies of every entity. After tediously removing the seemingly duplicate entities, I am unable to produce complete polylines, which I presume means the entities a...

Re: Sketcher Constraint Auto Update Always On?

I redid the sketch, making a a series of simpler sketches on the surface of the parent part. Things went much better, and certainly more quickly. Then I made a change to the parent part and everything blew up. How do I maintain constraints based on geometry external to the sketch?

Sketcher Constraint Auto Update Always On?

Howdy: I have a sketch with >500 constraints. I don't know if that's too many, but judging by how long it takes for FreeCAD to update the sketch every time I make a change, I've got something set wrong, or I'm just stupid. Ok, for sure, i'm stupid, especially after a couple glasses of scotch. I've t...

Which post processor do you use? If you use linux_cnc, don't set the "--modal" argument.
Thanks, Chris. I am using linuxcnc with no arguments at all. I haven't found a list of available arguments; can you point the way?

Danke, herbk!

I had to delete and recreate the profile to get it to work.

Re: Use Start Point issue and request

Exactly what GeneFC said - the last workaround I used was to set the coord that should be zero to 0.01mm, which worked fine as I was using a 1/8" drill bit and 3mm end mill.

Tag dressup not working on exterior curved paths

Probably my problem. I've watched Sliptonic's path dress up tutorial, and I'm not seeing what's shown there with the attached file. It yields a tag dress up item in the tree with no nested items and no dialog to change values. OS: Debian GNU/Linux 9.5 (stretch) Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of F...
