Re: Catia 3DXML (again)

Hey all, I've made progress importing a 3dxml file. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, as you can see, as I'm quite awful at python. Sorry to rain on your parade but I would start again using lxml but using what you have learn't about the file format so far. Rolling your own processing of...

Re: 3DXML File

if one just wants to extract info from an xml file, the xml.etree.ElementTree battery included module is useful for that (and not much point in prettify then, since it is easy enough to explore/extract nodes from the tree as is). This works great if the xml is well formed, not so well if it is malf...

Re: Build on MacOS missing security options.

Do want to access these folders and are not able to do so? Or do you want explicitly grant (and revoke) access for FreeCAD? I have a problem when trying to load a scad file that loads an OpenSCAD library. OpenSCAD Libraries are stored in Documents see https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&...

Build on MacOS missing security options.

https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/mac-help/mchld5a35146/mac Describes how to control an applications access to Documents/Downloads etc. FreeCAD does not show up as a possible application :-(, so looks like FreeCAD on a Mac is missing setting some security options. Problem occurs on MacOS - Cata...

Re: My take on the FreeCAD GUI

Someone on facebook wrote: "I hope you dont succeed with this project, because I dont want FreeCAD to change" Something along those lines. And I am not even changing anything right now. This is just supposed to be a concrete discussion about how to improve the GUI for beginners. Fake fact...

Re: Problem OpenSCAD scad & csg files - PLEASE Add them to this thread - Thanks

Sorry I am confused. If I load the scad file into OpenSCAD the long side is on the X axis, same if I import into FreeCAD, what am I missing? It is rotated around X on my screenshot. It "lays flat" on the XZ plane in FreeCAD and XY plane in OpenSCAD. Still not getting it. For me in OpenSCA...
