Re: 2022 FreeCAD (and free CAE) Users Conference

This looks very interesting https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63115

Wondering if they will have any traction by the time of the conference?

Re: 2022 FreeCAD (and free CAE) Users Conference

Small steps - A conference is a good start.

Dream of the day when FreeCAD comes close to the maturity of Blender and KiCAD.

Marco - Yuk - Should be a workbench that supports import.
Should use lxml rather than xml

Each to their own - does not get the thumbs up from me.

there must be some nifty way... maybe Mesh_API import Mesh import numpy as np from io import StringIO # the vertex buffer from a "strip" (from the xml) vertbuf = """104.674 82.6898 0.508,104.674 82.6898 0,104.717 83.0119 0.508,104.717 83.0119 0,104.841 83.312 0.508,104.841 ...

Re: PUMA 3D Printed Microscope

Openflexure (OF) is great but its main strength is the innovative use of flexure mechanics to make a versatile precision XYZ stage almost entirely from 3D printed plastic parts. My understanding for the motivation behind (OF) being entirely 3D parts was primarily due to the aim for use in third wor...

Re: PUMA 3D Printed Microscope

Just wondering how it compares with https://gitlab.com/openflexure/openflexure-microscope

Apart from the obvious, one was developed with FreeCAD and the other OpenSCAD

Thanks. Did you have a chance to look at the code? I figured I'd hold off on the merge until you had a chance to check it out.
No - sorry - too much on my plate that I need to catch up with.

I don't have a FreeCAD source build that I can test PR requests with.
