Re: Material support for Render workbench

Thanks grandcross . I see, i have mis-clicked in the topic, it should be in https://forum.freecad.org/viewtopic.php?t=78242 . In general such a material handler as object or similar is very common. If there's something specific you'd like to see create a feature request. It must be more precise spec...

Re: Forum very very slow (again)

It is since days slow again. Could it be, that the forum gets DDoS attacks (again)? I saw some odd behaviors (e.g. multiple due presumably scripts very similar users).

Re: Hardware choice for FreeCAD

It depends on the usecase, but FreeCAD is relative frugal with resources. When you do many with FEM or patterns/arrays or many TechDraw views, more CPUs are indeed helpful. When do you do many with FEM or meshes, then you need more RAM. When you do assemblies with 1000 parts+ (meant is every here si...

That is a long time issue. There was a time, where in the cmake log output was written, that coin was not found (but was installed) and also compiled fine. Since the doc does not do anything (as far as i know), i would not bother it.

Re: Merging Fasteners and Gears in Part wb?

but how would that work if a specific fastener that is not available in the current 'library' already exists in the file? Like every file that is not in any library (independent how the library is managed) (or PDM), it is a "dead" part. Linking from a PDM or libary is absoulty basic workf...

Re: How to detach MODEL and TASKS tabs from combo view?

I need to get those tabs in two separated panels. Because tasks tab is continuously getting active by itself and that's annoying. I can confirm, that this is default is no really helpful. Anway: - Preferences --> General --> Tree view mode --> change the dropdown menu from Combo View to TreeView an...

Re: Transform tool has lost its 3D appearance

Besides that I never had any issues with the tool itself: it moves exactly in increment steps for translations as well as for the angles. If it doesn't, it should be reported. I have reported a few times. See here, how it much the values moves. Step is here 1mm, the former coordinate system are exa...
