Get meta information from macro

If you add a macro in the macro folder, you still have to add it to the toolbars using the toolbar dialog. There are already guidelines to add some metadata to the macro: https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD-macros#guidelines-for-submitting-a-macro But as far as I can tell, this metadata is not read w...

Re: Annotation does not accept double quote character

There is something similar going on with the templates.
If you enter something like "&" as text for a template field, it will be displayed as HTML:

I can confirm, that it happens with OS: Debian GNU/Linux bullseye/sid (i3/i3) Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.19.18149 (Git) Build type: Release Branch: master Hash: fb5d7fa076d9cfa00c5ef343e061275c7b558ab5 Python version: 3.7.4+ Qt version: 5.11.3 Coin version: 4.0.0...

Re: The Big TechDraw Comments Thread

I think it is not worth it to create a own thread for this question: Can you set the default font size for annotations? I have set the default font size to be 3.5mm, but if I create an annotation, the font size is always 8mm. Or is there something in the Customize section to set? There seems to be a...

Re: [Macro] Snap Dimension lines to same length / re-center dimension

Yes, I would do that. But before I would like to iron out a few kinks that are still in the macro. For example, I found out that the calculation is not correct for generic Distance measures if the edges are not co-linear. edit: this should be fixed now, it is working now for all kinds of distances (...

Re: Dimensioning to point of intersection

I personally think that a lot of the geometrical algorithms used in Draft and Arch, and elsewhere, could benefit from using Numpy or SciPy functions. But the code is completely devoid of it. It's like they purposefully decided to avoid Numpy. Instead, a lot of vector functions are coded from scratc...

Do you mean this? 2019-09-10-191024_813x554_scrot.png I can verify in OS: Debian GNU/Linux bullseye/sid (i3/i3) Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.19.18149 (Git) Build type: Release Branch: master Hash: fb5d7fa076d9cfa00c5ef343e061275c7b558ab5 Python version: 3.7.4+ Qt v...

but it requires Numpy.
Isn't numpy not a dependency of freecad itself? At least if you git grep it, there are some hits in the code.

Re: Dimensioning to point of intersection

I like yours, , but you need to unscale the answer before returning it. Thanks :) But you directly wrote down the equations for the point instead of using the linear equation system which is probably the better way. Also thanks for the hint with the scale, I added this to my macro now as well! getE...

Re: [Macro] Snap Dimension lines to same length / re-center dimension

It isn't too hard to calculate the coordinates for the Distance type, if you do a little bit of vector calculations

So, the macro supports now DistanceX, DistanceY and Distance types!
