Re: Feature request: job-mirror command for Path workbench?

At the moment the latest stable version (2.7) of LinuxCNC does not support G50 or G68 commands... :( So it would be definitely handful to have a "mirror" super-command in the Path workbench to overcome all of the differences in CNC controllers. P.S. Maybe the same result could be obtained by using t...

Re: Feature request: job-mirror command for Path workbench?

I will do it.
A climbing cut does not change in a conventional cut with your controller?

Re: Feature request: job-mirror command for Path workbench?

P.S. I know that mirroring can be done by using the G50.1/G50.0 command. Unfortunately this sometimes causes problems because the climbing mill style can change in conventional cut and viceversa. P.P.S. Yes, I know that experienced machinists are using the G68 command to rotate the axis in order to ...

Feature request: job-mirror command for Path workbench?

Hi all, I don't know if this is the right place for proposing new features/commands. Anyway, in many situations would be nice to have a command able to completely mirror one path-job along one axis. This would come very handy with mirrored objects, where one has to manually create a mirrored job for...

Re: A grid as constrain for the Sketcher?

Update. For now I just solved by 1. making an orthogonal array of copies of the object with the preferred grid size, 2. downgrading it to a set of objects, 3. deleting the superfluous objects manually. Drawbacks: the operation has to be started again from scratch when the size of the objects change ...

Re: A grid as constrain for the Sketcher?

As I see, also some partial circular slots are included with that method, so there is a lot of manual work to do for adjusting the result... I mean, I wouldn't call that a lot of work. It's certainly work, but that's what we engineers are paid to do. We are paid to solve problems. Not everything ca...

Re: A grid as constrain for the Sketcher?

Furthermore, I do not understand why the array of circles is translated up-right on my computer.... I had that strange symptom too. Right-click the document in tree view, Mark to recompute, then F5 to recompute solves it for me. Definitely it doesn't work on my 0.19 version. Recomputing works only ...

Re: A grid as constrain for the Sketcher?

Single discs can be excluded if you use something like Part_Common , which creates an intersection of two shapes. As I see, also some partial circular slots are included with that method, so there is a lot of manual work to do for adjusting the result... or I'm missing something? :? Draft_array_int...

Re: A grid as constrain for the Sketcher?

That can be done with a little help from Part CompoundFilter . Hello Deep, applying the "collision-pass" includes also all discs/circles intersecting/touching the boundaries of the "ring" you drawn. I don't want to include them. I have to mill this slots on a disc-plate made of plastic with a CNC m...

A grid as constrain for the Sketcher?

Hello everyone, I'm just facing the problem of the best distribution of tiny magnets on a circular surface to build a so-called "switchable magnet". By using the STL files of some makers as guidance, I told to myself: "I will draw my personal version in some minutes with freecad". :) Unfortunately, ...
