+1 for the idea, and +1 for the offer to implement. Would it be another option in Start workbench preferences or only in the General section?
I was thinking the General section - since the Start workbench would not be activated. But if there's a better way, I'm totally open for suggestions.

Any interest in a Preference "autoload last workbench" ?

I often seem to be working mainly in a particular WB for a while. And as the project moves, or I'm working on a specific aspect of it I have to load the WB for it. It seems most of the time I want the same WB as the one I was working on last - whichever that was. If others would also find that usefu...

Re: Error messages

I just submitted a PR for the HoldingTag error, ran into it yesterday but didn't get around to create a patch until now. It seems the behavour of FC has changed when a document is restored leading to this race in HoldingTags where we try to access internal data before they've been created. The enume...

App::DocumentObjectGroup visibility changes touched state

For a while now the Model group of a Path.Job objects needs a recompute and it seems to be related to changing the Visibility flag of itself or of any of its contained objects. Personally I would call it a bug but with all the behavioural changes lately I'm not sure anymore. Is this by design or a b...

Re: Tool Library and speeds

The speeds are not in the tool library on purpose, because they depend more on the material than on the tool itself. If you always work with the same material than yes, it would make a lot of sense to just add the feeds into the library. What you want to do is probably supported by the Job Template....

Re: Merge Profile Tools

It should be possible to merge the operations together so the code manages the choice between faces and edges depending on the users selection, like many other tools. IMO it doesn't make sense this being two seperate operations and as we add operations to path the toolbars may become cluttered. See...

Re: toolmanager bombed out , all tools gone.

That's hard to say, depends on your branch and when you pulled/fetched the last time. What I do is fetch the latest changes to freecad, then swtich to a new branch based on freecad/master. I build out of source so I delete the build directory and create a new build. I don't know enough about cmake a...

The blank lines I don't know, but the additional end tag doesn't look like valid XML to me. Not an expert though.

Re: toolmanager bombed out , all tools gone.

From your output above your tool table seems to be empty and the TableName is a regular string. I would probably suggest removing your configuration files, I have the feeling that something else in the config file got out of whack and it's spilling into the tool table.
