Re: How to use all your ram and crash freecad

P.S. I figured out a better way.

I simply used the PART workbench Extrude feature to extend the spiral in a third dimension. Hardly used any resources. Looks fine for what i wanted.

Freecad 0.19 is the best.

Hi Eveyone. Sorry I have not been on forum lately. Works been flat out. Wish I could pop in more regularly and help out a bit. I just got the 0.19 daily PPA update on my Ubuntu 16.04 machines. I've had the appimage version for a while, but little time to play. Had a serious play today Its AWESOME 8-...

Re: Install multiple versions of freecad ubuntu

update. I saw this thread https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?t=27992 Which suggested I may have better luck if I uninstalled my other versions. Did an apt remove on stable and daily, and an auto remove after reboot to clear out the dependencys. No joy with the legacy build. mongrel@CADboss:~...

Re: PPA gave me v0.15 [solved]

Making this solved because problem in title was solved by not installing the feecad-doc package. Note i was also able to install freecad-doc after doing the freecad upgrade. I've googled a bit about the side by side installs for 0.16 and Daily. No luck, even though I'm sure I have seen something bef...

Re: PPA gave me v0.15

Update

I found this thread https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?t=36199
which sugested removing the freecad-docs from the cli command. Which got me running v0.18.1.

Now I just need legacy and daily builds too.... I think there is a link for that. I'll be back after a google.

Re: how to do a screw

Going to need more info please. How did you do a screw thread before? FC0.17 does threads much better now, but there are some changes in the process. Very quick explanation: You need to make a helix in Part WB then in Part Design WB make a shape binder from the helix, then attach datum plane to shap...
