Re: How to improve the design of the FreeCAD project?

Thanks for taking the initiative on this mika and to anyone coming here from the aforementioned link, welcome. One little suggestion I would have to ensure the most constructive contributions possible, please check out the wiki and bug tracker to see both the "what needs improving" (bug tracker) and...

Re: CSS issue with freecadweb.org/api footer

Unfortunately a "real" solution requires JavaScript to determine the window height or to do sticky scrolling etc. IMO, it's best to avoid the issue altogether by setting a min-height on your body that is reasonable for the expected screen sizes and just accept that the footer will be a long scroll a...

Re: Part Design Workbench icons aligned to guidelines

May I ask you to do something similar also with this...? Of course, I'm working through all the workbenches before getting to the core icons. You can track my progress on my fork . I'm currently about 25% done with FEM, then will tackle assembly. Once that's done I can move on to the core icons. If...

I've tried to ensure a high contast with respect to multiple backgrounds, but there's still room to improve - are there any particular icons that cause any issues?

Re: Robot Workbench aligned to guidelines

Build finished, nothing broken, so unless there's any feedback in the next day or so, expect a pull request by this weekend.

Robot Workbench aligned to guidelines

Here are the Robot workbench icons, aligned to guidelines. Old on left, new on right on light, gray and dark backgrounds at 16, 24, 32 and 64 px. spritesheet.png I had to make a few "choices" here - the stark black robot was treated by using a darker highlight tone than I usually would - I kept 2 le...

Re: Part Design Workbench icons aligned to guidelines

Looks fine to me! :) Great! I'm getting used to the realigned icons so much that when in 0.16, I find the old icons weird :D Cool, out of interest though, despite weirdness, you can still orient yourself ok, right? I've been trying to make sure the new icons are still recognizable for people used t...

Re: Part Design Workbench icons aligned to guidelines

But sorry to be nitpicking, the perspective in a few icons is way off. Here's the new icons with the updated perspective. (I only show one of the pattern ones, but it's the same perspective change on all of them). I've now made the hole in the square before transfroming. spritesheet.png Unless ther...

Re: Part Design Workbench icons aligned to guidelines

basically the ellipse shape's main axis should be horizontal. True, I have to admit I was trying to make the ellipse as big as possible rather than as accurate as possible. As a true round hole, the icon appears very similar to the pocket icon at smaller/normal sizes. I'll have another crack at it,...
