A design flaw IMO that has been introduced with the merge of the Link branch. This is an annoying behevaiour that must be properly fixed in the future.
Thank you.
So I invite realthunder to have a look.

Re: PartDesign new development, MultiBody and more

Finally, I'll show the pattern instance selection with feature Split workflow I mentioned in previous post. The previous release has a few glitches regarding this workflow which is fixed in the current release. The screencast shows the the boolean feature merging the original pad feature into the pa...

Re: PartDesign new development, MultiBody and more

Next is the new grouping capability inside body. You can toggle auto group for non-solid features. They splitted into three groups for sketches, datums and others (for shape binders, etc). These auto groups will auto claim any new non-solid features you create. You can also create your own group to ...

Re: PartDesign new development, MultiBody and more

Sorry for the silence these few days. Been busy with lots of stuffs. Anyway, I just published a new release, with some new features add addressing a few problems reported here. I'll split it into a few posts here. First, I have added draft angle option to pad and pocket, as it seem to be a very popu...

Re: PR#2862: Configuration Table using Spreadsheet

Maybe the href() can be solved differently? I am a bit surprised that expressions pointing at the parent cause cyclic dependencies in a DAG. From what I saw in the source, expressions are evaluated on a node-by-node (App::DocumentObject) base. Can't they be evaluated on a need-to-know base? For exa...

Re: Assembly3 preview

How did you solve the question about the need to connect sub-assemblies through their parts? I did a test where a part encapsulated in Sub-Assembly1 has 1 DOF for animation and another part encapsulated in Sub-Assembly2 also has 1 DOF. When inserting Sub-Assembly 1 and 2 in the Overrall Assembly, b...

Re: PartDesign new development, MultiBody and more

Looks great, Realthunder :) I'm excited to get started with this version. On a side note: I'm planning to get started with my class of 15 students with FreeCAD soon. Among the things we'll be working with is the Path workbench. My question: how are improvements to FreeCAD in the main branch (master...

Re: Sketcher Development - Integration of Extensions

I take note that you have ideas regarding the serialisation of properties and thus your strong preference to keep this serialisation within the properties. I would like to facilitate your work. I think it is important that when there are decisions to be made that have an important impact on the pro...

Re: [LinkStage3]-Non planar parting lines for molds.

The new tools are amazing. Thank you. Could you please start a new thread in the "Developer corner" sub forum titled "Support for multi-body modeling" I opened a thread here . You've already known most of the features, except the last 'Wrap' feature. Highly experimental, but I am sure you'll like it.

Re: PartDesign new development, MultiBody and more

I saw some topic asking about the difference between the green SubShapeBinder and the original blue ShapeBinder. Here is a brief summary, The original ShapeBinder can only bind to a single Part derived feature, while SubShapeBinder can bind to multiple objects having a shape, e.g. Link, an entire Ap...
