Re: PartDesign new development, MultiBody and more

Looks great, Realthunder :) I'm excited to get started with this version. On a side note: I'm planning to get started with my class of 15 students with FreeCAD soon. Among the things we'll be working with is the Path workbench. My question: how are improvements to FreeCAD in the main branch (master...

Re: Sketcher Development - Integration of Extensions

I take note that you have ideas regarding the serialisation of properties and thus your strong preference to keep this serialisation within the properties. I would like to facilitate your work. I think it is important that when there are decisions to be made that have an important impact on the pro...

Re: [LinkStage3]-Non planar parting lines for molds.

The new tools are amazing. Thank you. Could you please start a new thread in the "Developer corner" sub forum titled "Support for multi-body modeling" I opened a thread here . You've already known most of the features, except the last 'Wrap' feature. Highly experimental, but I am sure you'll like it.

Re: PartDesign new development, MultiBody and more

I saw some topic asking about the difference between the green SubShapeBinder and the original blue ShapeBinder. Here is a brief summary, The original ShapeBinder can only bind to a single Part derived feature, while SubShapeBinder can bind to multiple objects having a shape, e.g. Link, an entire Ap...

PartDesign new development, MultiBody and more

I open this thread for discussion of the new development of PartDesign workbench in my branch. The focus will be on multibody/solid design, but may also include other enhancement. Hopefully, all these can be merged to upstream soon, but you can already try all the features mentioned below in my pers...

Do you intend to incorporate this functionality in the next stable version of Assembly 3 that is already available in FreeCAD updates? :?:
This requires FC core support. It will be available in FC 0.20.

Re: how to set the linked object for a App::Link

If you are directly using App::Link, then you can change its link target by accessing its LinkedObject property directly. The setLink API is exposed for more advanced use, like using the LinkBaseExtension to extend an existing object to behavior as a link or a group. The first argument is only used ...

Re: Sketch - Identify Geometry Index (inside and outside Edit Mode)

I adds a PropertyLinkSub to a Sketch to test. The PropertyLinkSub index is monitored and updated by your branch of FC when the underlying geometry change, is that correct ? Are you saying you're adding a PropertyLinkSub to the sketch to monitor its own geometry? It'll probably work, but what I mean...
