Re: Workspace (or how to call it)

Most of what you just described can already be achieved by using App::Link'ed App::Part with all its children being linked as well. Even the fusion part can be somewhat done using Part::Link. But I do have a problem with some part of the concept here. Why would you want to perform fusion inside a gr...

Re: Links

And you plan to work on Assembly? I wasn't planning on attacking assembly directly. App::Link is a result of my complain about App::Part, and the discussion with DeepSOIC and ickby, which you joined as well. I have some idea in mind of what the ultimate assembly workbench will look like. But haven'...

Re: [s]Test[/s] PULL! request: App.ActiveContainer

Actually it is not meant to be allowed, but also rather hard to find a good way to make this work correctly. In my branch I tried this, bu tthe solution is not yet working well enough. EDIT: Deepsoic, should a object be alowed to be in two groups? I always thought also only one group, same as with ...

Re: [s]Test[/s] PULL! request: App.ActiveContainer

What you call an assembly is in my opinion an array. For real assembly some assembly relations will need to be added first! ;) Sure, I intend this to be the building block for assembly. In additional to what you've said, App::Link is also very helpful for building part hierarchies, which IMO is one...

Re: [s]Test[/s] PULL! request: App.ActiveContainer

When an App::Part is linked, all its children, and sub parts, and children of those sub parts (if the sub part is also linked) will have full qualified name access Can this be joined with the Container thing I'm trying to get merged, or one of them has to go away? I haven't looked into your code (w...

Ahhh... how come I am always later for the party. I am really bugging with the current behavior of App::Part, but I was too late to make my opinion matter. Hope this time it is not too late. I have almost completely re-write App::Link. And I have solved all the technical problems, and I am now aimin...

Re: Path.Area: Welcome, to the new era!

With the attached file I'm seeing this after 100 iterations. Area: 44.4123110771 TechDraw 5.21004390717 A quick run on my computer, there is definitely some bottleneck somewhere in Path.Area, but it is not the projection code. It might be somewhere very unexpected. First, you can turn on Path.Area ...

Re: Path.Area: Welcome, to the new era!

I probably have but I've slept since then and probably forgot. Sorry if I'm making you repeat yourself. Must be getting old. Well, I am not exactly young here either :D quote="sliptonic"]my benchmark script might be flawed so I'm including it below. With this script I'm getting results where...

Re: Path.Area: Welcome, to the new era!

Another thing I'd like your input on: Now I can do SectionCount = -1 to get all the sections as controlled by the Stepdown parameter. Or I can do SectionCount = 1 and a SectionOffset to control the height of the section. What I really want is more control of where the sections are taken. I'd like t...

Re: Path.Area: Welcome, to the new era!

I made some pretty good progress today and uncovered a couple more bugs. Let me know if you'd like me to start dumping these into Mantis for tracking I am working on a big feature of FC, and is about to finish it. I'll take a look at the bugs later, maybe in a day or two. If they can be fixed quick...
