Re: Assembly3 preview

By the way, I think that the design you did is really good, seems pretty robust to me. This is what I got from your tutorial: Thanks. There is a small difference, though. With my scheme, all link elements in the array contain the exact same constraints, so it is possible to collapse the array witho...

I took part of my assembly and made a test tutorial that I join in pdf with the concerned FC files.
Thanks. I am so glad to have tests like you. And I'll fixed the problem soon.

Re: Assembly3 preview

Would you please explain me, how can a constraint be shared? This is where I'm lost completely. I'd start with AssyA constrained to AssyB and there would be a link assembly AssyB' placed in a different possition then AssyB and constraint to AssyA. That's what I understand, you're explaining. How ca...

Re: Assembly3 preview

I'd say it would be very difficult to maintain all that in one file. asm3 supports external file linking. You can open multiple files in FreeCAD, create sub-assembly in those file, and drag them to the main assembly file. A link will be created between the main file and external component file. No ...

Re: Assembly3 preview

I don't know if this is best place to quote... I have added how creo handle the structure of parts in an assembly. Could you please give some brief description of the meaning of those Sets items? Are these constraint applying to the bodies inside its owner part, or for inter-relationship between th...

Re: Assembly3 preview

even in ASM3 you have a container for each instance of the part (unless I misunderstood something and used ASM3 it incorrectly). That is not the case in asm3. The following picture show that Assembly001 has three parts. Cube001 is simply added as it is, no extra container for it. The second part, A...

Re: Assembly3 preview

There's a little misunderstanding, perhaps. The parts shown in mockup tree are not source parts, but of course their instances (as well as parts in your Parts container); you can see there STIFFENER and STIFFENER001 and similar cases. Thus, "STIFFENER.Face2" is short ( visual representation only) f...

Re: Assembly3 preview

- what to select in TechDraw to get projected views? I tried various possibilities without success. 5. Drawing - probably the most serious problem at this stage is that the assembly cannot be placed into drawing (or did I failed to do it correctly?). "Assembly" would allow to start "Insert ortograp...

Re: Assembly3 preview

A note for the construction of the assembly: towards the end, the solver no longer caused the placing of parts according to the constraints. I had to record, close the files. Then at the reopening of the assembly, a recalculation of the solver and everything was put in place. That is most likely a ...

Re: Assembly3 preview

Once again, Realthnder and the comunity, congratulations to the progress! It's a much better experience, testing assemblies, compared to 3-4 months ago. I tested few assemblies in the new releases and have some feedback bellow. Following points of possible improvements are not criticism, I would li...
