Re: tool shape respected on 3D pocket ?

Hi Realthunder, A liitle bit late, but i have work takes more time yesterday as planed... For your particular shape, yes, it is possible to simply use profiling at surfacing stage. And because the profile path generated has no island, I think you'll see far less retractions. But other shapes with a...

Re: Assembly3 preview

Thanks for the explanation. Lets wait and see what other users will have to say about this over time. To me Assembly 2 Plane relation feels a bit "more natural" for now. PlaneAlignment could i guess be closer to Assembly 2 Plane relation. But if you will try out the Assembly 2 Plane relation you wi...

Re: Assembly3 preview

This should explain it. Is this how SolveSpace does Plane relations or it's just a combination you used? As to me five feels a bit too much. Initial Plane relation i guess shouldn't do more than three? That would give much more needed flexibility to the end user. Yep, plane coincidence is my additi...

Re: Assembly3 preview

Lock, Plane, PlaneOrientation Lock, Plane, SameOrientation Lock, Plane, MultiParallel ... And couldn't get it to work regardless of selection combination and initial manual position alignment. Specifying constraint with a numerical solver is some time tricky, because it is sensitive to over constra...

Can you get information about DOF between each objrct from the solver?
I think it's definitely possible, since SolveSpace, the CAD software, has a similar function as Assembly2 to animate DOF. I haven't looked at their code to see how they did it. Will do in the future for sure.

Re: Assembly3 preview

Hey realthunder, I have some problem compiling your https://github.com/realthunder/FreeCAD/tree/LinkStage3 branch on Windows. Error 9 error C2280: 'std::unique_ptr<Gui::LinkView::Element,std::default_delete<_Ty>> &std::unique_ptr<_Ty,std::default_delete<_Ty>>::operator =(const std::unique_ptr<_Ty,s...

Re: tool shape respected on 3D pocket ?

"keep tool down" saves about 150 lines, which means per step up. step down and vertikal move 75 less, - but still 120 to much. The problem I found is that you are using 100% step over. How did you cover the area with 100% step over? Were you actually using a bigger tool? The path sorting algorithm ...

New support of origin and datum feature, for use with PartDesign body. You'll need to sync both my FC branch and asm3. In the screencast below, the cyliner and cube are simply Part features, the datum plane and origin are from a PartDesign body. https://github.com/realthunder/files/raw/master/screen...

Re: tool shape respected on 3D pocket ?

Hm, a little bit confusing for me... ;) Who creates the 3D Pocket operation? He (she) should know... libarea is a third-party library. You can consider me as the current maintainer. For my understanding of the code, it is more specialized to deal with 2.5D operation. You can use it for some c...

Re: Assembly3 preview

C'mon. Two Part Cubes + 2 relations (without counting the Lock one) between them. Couldn't make it work with SolveSpace in multiple tests. If there is any scenario that works for you just confirm and i will test it further. I don't mind spending some time on it. As i see there is a lot of options a...
