Re: Assembly3 preview

Would it be possible to have a exposed the names of bodies. ie if I want to reference a placement for a body in x, y, z, I have to use body001.placement....., or body002...... Would it be possible to have it as the given name? Which is a bit meaningful. The next release will have an improvement on ...

Re: Topological Naming, My Take

might it be that the split feature does only work with a face right now ? I recently tried to split a body using a second body due to I were needing some clearence between the resulting Bodys... ( I tried this, using your Freecad built from july ) You mean using a face from the second body? Just se...

Re: Topological Naming, My Take

If, on the other hand, I create part design body based directly on the slices , colors will work as expected. See video from minute 4.16 What I noticed is that the "BaseFeature" icon is different also in this case. With this second technique the model is even parametric but it should work correctly...

I'm using an AMD R7950 video card if that makes a difference.
Are you using Windows? Maybe you can try some fix proposed here.

Re: Topological Naming, My Take

Also, if it can give you some more clues, in the state that the file it is right now: For body "belt", although there was a previously set color with no effect, re doing CTRL-D and changing the color value will now work but the color value needs to change. If I only re select the same previous colo...

Re: Topological Naming, My Take

I found a strange behavior in the color setting process for the attached file. The "Part" container has 3 bodies based on 3 Draft downgraded solids so the prior process of creation should not have a influence on the DAG(I guess). You should be able to set "belt" color the way you described. I mean ...

Re: Trace other part in sketch assembly3

One way of doing it is to use the green SubShapeBinder. You can consult my tutorial here. There are probably easier ways depending on your assembly structure. Maybe you can post your files here so that it will be easier to describe the steps.

Re: Hidden line draw style

Not sure if any one have seen this, OpenCasCade has an online 3D viewer (https://www.opencascade.com/viewer.php). It has some quite decent view modes, especially the hidden line removal view. Notice how it shows the cylinder silhouette and section hatches in real time. It will be pretty handy for Te...

Re: Assembly3 preview

I've been using the Freecad-Daily PPA for a while, to enjoy the goodness of the latest developments, and automatic updates on ubuntu, and I wanted to know if it's possible to bolt assembly3 to it. Since it's based on the master git, it should include solvespace and other required libraries right? A...
