Question about source

Please see here:

https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/blob ... al.py#L483

Is this a typo?

Shouldn't this be better spelled:

ps3vector = np.array(self.result_obj.PS3Vector)

Re: Which CalculiX solver should be standard?

If you read bit further, you can see: Default is the first solver which has been installed of the following list: SGI, PARDISO, SPOOLES and TAUCS. And there is reason why PARDISO has precedence. --- It's faster and better. So we should use DEFAULT by default and let choose ccx which solver is availa...

Re: *TIE constraint for ccx (aka "bonding faces")

how about this? Sorry, couldn't ATM, but looks nice. Please note that in case of contact constraint, both faces (master and slave) could be the same face, so called self contact. I think this isn't applicable for *TIE http://mecway.com/forum/discussion/813/rubber-bellow-with-self-contact-in-mecway-...

Slider for Scaling Displacements in Results Task Panel

Testing some frequency analysis found that in most cases deflection is really large. Minimum available scaling (1.0) is pretty unusable. example file (beam, one side fixed, only one eigen mode): freq.FCStd Scaling by 1.0 is to large: Screenshot 006.png Therefore I changed scaling range to lower limi...

Re: gmsh does not mesh a half cylinder as I would expect it

But: I had a short look at your script. To make a bar with half of circle crossection, attached code snippet looks a little bit simpler: top_cylinder_obj = App.ActiveDocument.addObject("Part::Cylinder", "BottomCylinder") top_cylinder_obj.Radius = 30 top_cylinder_obj.Height = 500 top_cylinder_obj.An...

*SECTION PRINT implemented for volume elements

:bell: I've implemented ccx's *SECTION PRINT to get internal section forces printed. Screenshot 004.png code: https://github.com/UR-0/FreeCAD/tree/FemConstraintSectionPrint example file: eye.FCStd Screenshot 005.png ATM, I'm struggling to group result object under "CCX_Results". Perhaps someone can...

Re: gmsh does not mesh a half cylinder as I would expect it

gmsh 4.5.2 on win 10 has no problems too.

For general remark:
To improve model's stability, you should avoid touching seams.

In your example file, please have a look at cylinder's seam in relation to box's top face
