Re: Vertical Feed rates in partially-vertical cuts

I think I found a way to apply the ramp feedrate to the ramp/helix edges only. For now it is at at my own branch , but I create a pull request if nothing new comes up.. Regarding the tags.. Like I wrote earlier, the rampentry dressup will turn every straight vertical plunge into a ramp.. So if the t...

Re: Vertical Feed rates in partially-vertical cuts

I was thinking about this, too, and I think it might actually be an issue. Typical ramps and helixes are in the order of 5-10 deg steep (full horizontal speed milling as you have suggested), whereas a tag is typically 45 or more and must be done much more carefully. Better yet would be to use rampi...

Re: Vertical Feed rates in partially-vertical cuts

I just created a pull request for this: PR1121 It now has the dropdown menu and an input field for a custom rate: 2017-11-28-192525_1920x1080_scrot.png I had bit of a hard time thinking how I should assign the feed rates to different sections of the finished path. I chose quite simple method: If the...

Re: Vertical Feed rates in partially-vertical cuts

There is another option of course--allow for Ramp-Speed specification in the Tool-Controller or the RampEntry-Dressup. What it lacks in elegance, it makes up for in the broadness of it's application... Best, Josh I'm starting to lean towards this... Maybe some dropdown list "Ramp Feed Rate" with op...

Re: Vertical Feed rates in partially-vertical cuts

Wow, very good discussion going on here. When I wrote the ramp entries, I gave it quite a little thought.. Currently the feed rate is set very simply: if any segment of the path has different starting Z and finish Z, the vertical feed rate will be applied. Not very clever, so I am happy to implement...

Re: Couple of potential bugs...

Hi. You can select all by clicking here: 2017-11-19-103029_1920x1080_scrot.png It kind of serves for the purpose of Select All -button, so adding another might not be that useful. Of course that functionality is not very obvious, so some hint/documentation would be good. I'll make some finishing tou...

Re: Couple of potential bugs...

So what I suggest is that the automated search of the holes is removed from the opExecute and moved to a separate function which is then called when the operation is initially generated or the Reset button is pressed. Does that sound reasonable @mlampert, @sliptonic? Sounds reasonable to me. Hi. I ...

Hi roivai,

The tools you use are invalid.
Just edit your tools and give the cutting edge height a value other then 0.

Oh - obviously. Now it works beautifully. Thank you so much. This is a great addition to FC Path.

Re: CAM simulation for the Path Workbench

Hi Shaise, I finally had time to build and try the new simulator. I did not succeed as well as others.. I'm running Linux. Just pulled the latest source like one hour ago. OS: Debian GNU/Linux 8.6 (jessie) Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.17.12600 (Git) Build type: Unk...

Re: Couple of potential bugs...

I searched and didn't find this complaint from anyone else, so here goes: When Editing a Path-Drilling-Object to Remove Base-Geometry elements, there doesn't appear to be any trap if I Remove the final item. If I do this, there appears to be no trap, and the list is repopulated with other elements-...
