Re: Arch Panel Cut from padded sketch doesn't work.

Next I tried padding the sketch, then select the pad (or body) and creating an Arch Panel from it. The pad turns brown and becomes a Panel in the tree, but when I try to create a Panel Cut from it, nothing is shown and the object.Shape has an empty edge list. Am I missing a vital step? I had to do ...

Re: [ticket #2998] Sketch with 2 shapes (rings) wont pad - Broken face

So it's a feature, not a bug? I noticed the problem this week-end, at the beginning of last week a multi-object pad worked (I'm on the freecad-daily ppa). Having to create multiple bodies when you want a number of objects spaced at precise distances is ... annoying to say the least Real world use ca...

Re: Helix machining for circular holes

I think it is good to have a well defined algorithm. Although it is easy to fool the next neighbour algorithm it is on the other side easy to support in case it ever gets necessary, e.g. by dividing the drilling job in two separate tasks. If the order is left e.g. to the somewhat arbitrary order th...

Re: Helix machining for circular holes

[edit: pull request URLs] I created a pull request for the tool controller fix , and I took a stab at job sorting this morning. I would say this is an improvement over the image I posted previously: Screenshot from 2017-04-29 11-03-49.png Screenshot from 2017-04-29 11-46-35.png I think this method (...

Re: I want rustlers, cut throats, murderers, and methodists

One without b-splines, just good ole straight lines: on the tiles object, face profile will only create a path for a single face (it is also a torture test for the constraint solver, don't try opening the sketch and adding / moving stuff around if you don't want to stare at an unresponsive screen fo...

Re: [0.17] Holding tags issues

mkay, works: https://github.com/m0n5t3r/FreeCAD/commit/59a32ceb4e5d83cf51f82ac2421921c9b8d0afa7 I'll submit a pull request after https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/pull/699 gets merged Another annoyance would be the base object falling out of the job when I delete the dressup, but that can be worked...

Re: [0.17] Holding tags issues

The discussion in https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=20439 might shed some light into it. There are 2 options as I see it: 1) you can add the feedrate back into each Command from the active tool controller 2) you can add a command that sets the feedrate, and fix the post processor to...

[0.17] Holding tags issues

I'm trying to make the holding tags work with the new tool controllers, and I'm close, I think: the way it's done in master currently leads to an AttributeError when trying to export the gcode; with https://github.com/m0n5t3r/FreeCAD/commit/70560eac8e92831b275abbef977214533e806031 it generates gcode...

Re: pocketing problem

You have not properly constrained Sketch011 under Pocket009. You made a common mistake when constraining arcs: using a coincident constraint along with a tangent constraint on the objects. You should only use a tangent constraint between their end points , and nothing else. Using a coincident const...

[0.17] pocketing problem

Hi all I'm getting an annoying issue with a thing I'm (re)designing (because the original mysteriously broke when I changed the spindle radius): the last pocket results in an all-black model and broken mesh output: Screenshot from 2017-04-15 21-30-30.png the original somehow works (almost identical,...
